I am 32 weeks pregnant and I have been getting a lot of pressure in my pelvis area and between my legs and wondering what that could be. Did my baby drop? I also can't get any sleep and my one side of my hip and lower back on the right side hurt a lot. What could cause this?

I am 31 weeks now with my second and my doctor explained the pressure to be something like the womb with the baby inside and resting on the pelvic area. This is a heavy burden and so we will feel pressure. I find it gets worse when i walk a little and the pressure is the worst when i need the bathroom. Any suggestions for relief?

i've always welcomed the pressure/weight, b/c i figured the baby's just getting ready. i've only minded the occasional head-butting, but he doesn't do that anymore. mine gets worse with walking too. maybe mine isn't as strong/heavy as yours.

my sis got stuck on bed rest in the hosp high-risk pregnancy unit b/c she had twins, and she said one roommate had to lay on an incline - head down feet up - b/c the woman had an "incompetent cervix" - when the cervix is weak and opens up before the baby's ready. the only thing i can think of to relieve the pressure is to lay down.

and my back's been ok but my hip / pelvic area's been sore - it hurts to sneeze or lift my legs when laying down. i noticed that gentle stretching seems to help - so for me, i presume it's just ligament discomfort and the result of hormones softening my bones so the baby can pass. i make sure to keep a fluffy pillow b/t my legs when i sleep - that helps a LOT to keep my now-wider hips straight and to reduce strain on my softened hip joints.
