Looking For A Midwifes Answer

I have had pain in my lower abdomen for the past two days, went to L&D because I thought I was in labor, but when I got there ...no contractions, no protein in my urine, and my feet and ankles are very swollen. Blood pressure is normal, they said they saw no signs of a UTI, but I am 1 centimeter dialated, Oh and im 38 weeks pregnant. When i have this pain it hurts on the left side of my back, could this be a UTI infection?? Lookin for answeres, and im ready to go in labor ...PLease Help!!
