I was told by my DR to use yeast inf. medication. I'd never had one before and didn't know there were so many different types. Is it safe to use vaginal suppositories while pregnant? Does the cream cure it or just relieve the itching? I feel like a moron, thanks.

Monistat 1-day, 3-day, or 7-day or the generic suppositories are safe. We cannot take the prescription pill Diflucan but OTC remedies are safe. Warning, they don't work and the yeast infection tends to return in pregnancy. Something horrible that we have to live w/. Sure ruins sex. Th cream that comes with the suppository is wonderful and is for exterior vaginal itching only. Hope you feel better!!

I had a terrible yeast infection when about 3 months pregnant. I used Canesten 3-day tablet treatment (which my Dr recommended) and boy did it work great! What a relief. I agree with E that the cream they give you with the tablets is awesome for relieving itching. I don't know what I would have done without it!
