hi everyone, I did my first ultrasound today and only the gastational sac was visible. my obgyn think i might be less then 6wks because they couldn't see much. but i had my period on december 28, 2007 and that calculates to 6wks!! tomorrow i will get the result of the blood test(hcg level), which will confirm how far long iam. is it normal to not see anything at 6wks?

Yes, I read that you can't see much at 6 weeks, that's why I'm waiting till 8 to get my first ultrasound, that and my life was too crazy to go any earlier. My first ultrasound is tomorrow. I'm nervsous. I think it is a good thing that they could see a sac though, I heard that's good. Are they going to do another ultrasound in a few weeks?

Yep. 6 weeks is very early to see much.

Were you charting temps, cm, cp, etc? If you aren't sure when you ovulated, you could VERY well have ovulated a week later than "average" and an u/s like that is very normal. GL!!

Hay jmsc. I'm not sure if u came on here yet but i wanted to know how ur ultrasound went. what did they look for? what was the first thing u noticed when the did it. i'm so interested in knowing

Hi ehi4rose - I just did my u/s yesterday at 7 weeks and it only showed the sac. They called it a blighted ovum, but just to make sure also did a blood test to check hcg level. The level has gone down, so it doesn't look good for me. We are miserable with this news - esp with it being valentine's day. --- I was hoping with a sac, there would still be a chance in a week or so... only if the hcg were going up instead of down. :( I pray your hcg is good and going up and strong. Let me know.

Bumblebee - I am really sorry to hear that news, I know jsut how hard that is to go through, Please know that you are in our thoughts and I hope you have a speedy recovery. Tkae care of yourself. (HUGS)

Bumblebee hang in there. I really hope progesterone levels increase. I thought it was possible for dr to give u progesterone if levels are dropping. Best wishes! I should be 8 weeks but i go to dr to confirm pg on Monday. That's when i will get u/s and blood test results should be back by then. I'm excited and scared because I'm not testing postive on urine samples

Bumblebee - February 16th, 2008 12:27 PM

Missjazzy - What were your blood test results? You should have had that by now?? ehi4rose - Havent' seen your update on your hcg level - I really hope you got good results. Haven't heard from u since then - so, getting worried. I pray it all went well.
