I swear I have been in disbelief since I found out. I told my mom I thought the 4 HPT I took were wrong, she said "well you had reason enough to buy them in the 1st place", LOL!
Anyhoo I find it so odd that I cant button my work pants and I'm only 7 weeks or so. Anyone else feeling the bulge yet?
My doctor said it is because I'm a small girl to start with 105 lbs so any weight gain is going to be more evident but it still amkes me feel crazy, LOL

CaliPitGirl - June 17th, 2008 8:42 PM

Nobody? Oh man I'm gonna be a fatty I know it =(

newbaby2009 - June 17th, 2008 8:42 PM

I am 6 weeks and i cant get my pants even close to buttoning. Its my second so its normal to get bigger sooner. My real dad is a faternal twin so i can rule that out either.

CaliPitGirl - June 17th, 2008 8:53 PM

Oh thank god, LOL.
I'm so clueless to this whole process....none of my friends have had kids and we are all around 26 of age so you'd think I'd have someone to ask bot NO, LOL!
I'm sure I'll be back with more questions! So far I love being able to read through all of this but I'm still kinda detached and in shock, LOL

Hello I am 25 and a small girl and 4 feet 11 inches tall I know how short. Lol. I use to weight 105.6 pounds before I got pregnant and now I weight 110.2 pounds and I am 11 weeks. So you are not the only one and this is my first pregnancy to. I totally know how you feel girl. Good luck!!

Rania03 - June 18th, 2008 7:08 AM

Yeah I'm only 5 weeks pregnant and my stomach is very obvious and i can't button my pants. LOL. I think that it has to do with being small. I'm 115 lbs. It's nothing to worry about. Congrats :)

Right now it's just bloating. Baby's still nestled in deep there, but the bloating can be really uncomfortable. Make sure you drink a lot and congratulations on your pregnancy!

mcbee - June 18th, 2008 11:10 AM

I agree with Kiersten. The baby is sooo small right now, that there's no way it's causing your bump (well, for the first-timers, anyway). It's probably just bloating.

newbaby2009 - June 18th, 2008 11:27 AM

Actually your uterus begins expanding the day of conception. Everything starts stretching and making room. So if you're really small it can be visible as early as 5 weeks. Its nt just bloating.

Kiersten - June 18th, 2008 1:06 PM

Ok newbaby, I'm not going to argue with you. I've had a baby too and that early on things ARE moving around and expanding, but still behind the pelvic bone. I won't say all, but MANY times women think they're showing early and it's bloating. But, to each their own. If you're showing already, congrats and show off your bump. They're something to be proud of.

In the early weeks of pregnancy you retain a lot of water and that causes bloating. That is why your clothes are feeling tight and you have a bit of a bump. It takes until sometime in your 2nd trimester for your uterus to fill the pelvis, and at that time is when you will develop your actual "baby bump" . A great book to buy is called, "Your Pregnancy Week By Week". It is a wonderful resource and it tells you exactly what to expect and even lists milestones of your developing baby. I am 35 weeks pregnant with our second child. Our daughter is 28 months, and we are expecting a baby boy this time. Good luck and congratulations to all of you!

I really get upset when people say women can't 'show' early or have clothes get tight early. I have fibroids. My uterus was measuring the size of a 15 week pregnancy BEFORE I got pregnant. I had a tiny baby bump BEFORE I was pregnant and my uterus could be felt above my pelvic bone BEFORE I was pregnant. My baby has never been as low as my pelvic bone on any of the ultrasounds (first one at 6 weeks). I wasn't able to do up my pants by 6 weeks. I had to be in maternity pants by 8 weeks. And yes it was because my uterus was big. So while in general women don't tend to show early, WE CAN. I feel pretty bad about how HUGE I am now and I would have thought that other pregnant women would be a little nicer about it. Just had to rant. Hormones are fun!

austynsmommy - June 18th, 2008 9:08 PM

I was pretty bloated about 4-5 weeks pregnant. I thought I was showing early but I am not. I wish I was though.

mayalene - June 20th, 2008 2:38 AM

i'm 11 weeks, i can still button up my pants but it's tight and when i sit down..man oh man..i end up unbuttoning my pants under my desk at work.

baby2jan13 - June 20th, 2008 11:05 AM

I am also 11 weeks pregnant with my second child. If I wear certain clothes, you can kind of tell. I can still wear SOME pants but very very tight! In the very beginning I was definitely bloated, however since this is my second, I am showing just a tad. Im bigger by the end of the day, which is just the bloating. so definitely both occur!

newbaby2009 - June 20th, 2008 11:00 PM

I just had my 1st ob appt. today. Im SO tired of no it all people sayin you cant show at 6 weeks so i asked and YES you can. I have a sizable bump and its NOT bloating. Its there 24/7. Its my second baby so that accounts for some of it, and i showed pretty earky with my daughter. Just because you yourself didnt show early DOES NOT mean NO ONE can.
