Is it safe to lose some weight when pregnant. I am 5 weeks pregnant and I wanted to lose a tiny bit of weight. I dont mean like dieting but like excersicing (Just walking and biking). I thought that if I lose weight slow it wont be harmful (0.5 lbs a week)

simple everyday things like walking and biking as long as it is on smooth terrain is okay, just dont push yourself like if you were not pregnant. you are still early so you may be unlicky enough to have morning sickness which may keep the pounds at by but staying fit during pregnancy is totally cool.

If you have morning sickness...chances are you will lose some weight. With my daughter I lost 15lbs. So far now, I'm 11w 1d and I lost 5lbs because of it. I didn't lose purposely, but I did lose because of the throwing up...but if you overdo it, it can be harmful to the baby

just gain weight...thats all i can say...this is NOT the time to worry about losing once you are already pregnant. the only thing you can do is follow the pregnancy diet exactly and dont eat a lot of fat and sugar, and if you never worked out before you were pregnant you need to be very careful about starting now. i am not trying to be judgement but why do you care about losing weight right now anyways? your belly is going to get big eventually, thats whats supposed to happen! i just had my daughter in december and yes, i gained a lot of weight, but she is super healthy and was a perfect weight at birth as well. rather than trying to lose, if i were you i would focus on gaining, but just gaining the right amount for how far along you are...ask your doctor for the weight chart that tells you how much you should be gaining a week during each trimester, that way you wont have much to lose when you have your baby....i lost 25-30 pounds immediately after having my dd. good luck!
