Hey there, I took a HPT and went back 15 min later to read the results and there was a faint pink line. Does this still count as a positive?? Ive never taken one before!!! And my period is 4 days late??

Anna - September 14th, 2005 11:57 AM

It sounds like a +++ to me! Most HPTs tell you to read the test around 3 minutes and not beyond 10 minutes. That's because the urine can soak it enough for the line to show through after a period of time sitting. But 15 minutes isn't that long. I'd wait another day or so and retest first thing in the morning. And make sure you read the test within 10 minutes. Congrats to you if you are PG!! Good luck!

Mary...The first pregnancy test I took the same thing happened to me the line was very faint and I didn't know if was a + or - ...so I bought the one that actually says pregnant or not pregnant that was much more clearer to read

Mary, let us know what happens, ok? I'll be praying that you get your BFP!

Mary - September 16th, 2005 3:17 PM

I just did another test this morning and it was a BFP! So here it comes!! I believe Im due the end of May!! How many weeks should I be when I go to my first doctors appt??

Anna - September 16th, 2005 9:21 PM

Mary, big congrats to you! Is this your first? We'll both be having our little ones in May, then! Your md may want to do a urine or blood test in his office to confirm your pregnancy. Your first actual appt. shouldn't be until you are eight weeks along, unless you are having any problems. Good luck girl!

I'm six weeks today, the 18th. My due date should be May 15th. So it sounds like your due date would be a week after mine! How neat! :)

Mary - September 19th, 2005 6:28 PM

Thats awesome!!! Have you already started taking prenatals??

Anna - September 19th, 2005 10:33 PM

Once I found out I was PG, I started taking Flintstones vitamins. My maternity center told me that those vitamins had everything that a PG woman needed. They told me to take two a day. So I take one in the a.m. and one in the p.m. It's so much better than trying to down those nasty, huge prenatal vitamins they give you! And they are so much cheaper...about $5.00 for a 60 tablet bottle. My sister was paying $20.00 a month for prescription vitamins! So what PG s/s have you been getting so far? It would be fun to compare our s/s and see how different or the same they are. Well, hope your having a good night!

Mary - September 20th, 2005 8:01 PM

Thanks for the help, I went out and bought vitamins today. Most of my syptoms have been very strong yet, except that I pee all the time. Sometimes Im dizzy, but not a lot, I have cramps every once in awhile. Just yesterday I started to be tired all the time, now Im trying to keep up on sleep so I dont fall over!! What are your symptoms so far??
