Speak to your doctor about this issue. It's very dangerous to smoke while pregnant. |

Hi. I was a smoker when I got pregnant with my son (now two years old). It took me about three weeks after I found out to quit ( I was about 8 weeks when I quit entirely). What I did...I had one pack and when that pack was gone, that was it. It's not about you anymore, it's about your child and you just HAVE to stop. It is SO bad for your child and your child will pay for your bad habit for possibly it's entire life if you don't quit. That is how I had to think about it. Hurting myself is one thing, but hurting my child is another. |

I smoked untill I was 4 months pregnant. But not much. The way I was able to quit was to cut down the smoking. I was young at the time so I would take a few drags off of my friends ciggarettes during their smoke breaks. All you can do is cut down on smoking as much as you can and then finally not smoke. It took me untill 4 months. Ismoked for 7 years when I had to quit smoking, but right after baby was born, I started smoking again. I dont think I will ever quit smoking, but the break was kind of nice. You know why I quit? Because every single time you take a drag off of your smoke, the baby cannot take a breath. There is no oxygon when you take the drag. That is why babies become premature or their brains cannot develop properly. They need all their breaths. You take it away when you take a drag off of a smoke. This is what pushed me to stop. Yes it is hard as hell, but its apart of being a mother. Smokeing is nothing compared to breast feeding and not sleepless nights. Trust me. You can quit smoking for a few months. |

I was a smoker for about 14 years before i got pregnant. I think i had 1 or 2 smokes after i found out and that was it. After losing 2 pregnancies I was not about to do anything that could possibly harm this one. It is very hard the first few weeks, and i still get cravings. Lots of people at work smoke so that makes it hard too. You just have to have the will power to do it. If you can't do it on your own, ask your dr for help. It will be so worth the health of your little miracle! Good luck! |

Thanks for the advice..Right now I am going through a stressful time..My fiance decided to move out of the house after a silly fight we had and now I really don't know what to do...I know smoking is bad and before all this I was doing very well, now I'm not!! I had my ultra sound done last week and the doctors said that everything looked great I am 9 weeks today and when I went for my ultra sound I was 8 weeks and 1 day the heart rate was at 176bpm and the picture it really looks like a baby!! I am very scared right now, I need the support of my better half and seeing that he doesn't live with me anymore I am having a rough time, and the smoking has picked up, I'm getting worried!! |
