I will be 12 wks tomorrow. I have never had much symptoms, sore breasts, stretching pain, couple bouts of nausea from smells, frequent urination, feeling tired and that is about it. This week I have had a couple of pains that made me double over but no spotting or bleeding. In the last week or so my breasts are not as sore, I don't pp as much and I have not got nausea once. I feel completely normal. Is this normal? This is my first pregnancy and I am clueless.

I would say it is completely normal for this time in your pregnancy. I am the same way - 12 weeks with #1 and this week I have had virtually no symptoms. This is about when the placenta takes over hormone production and therefore, a lot of your symptoms will disappear or become less. Occasionally I have one of those shooting pains that hurts really bad but I think that is the uterus growing.

Thanks butterflies. I just get soo paranoid that something might be wrong and I will miss it. My next u/s is not until 10/20 and I don't know if I can wait that long!!! I had two u/s early on, one at 5 wk and one at 7 wks. Waiting another 8 or 9 weeks seems like forever!!!

Lissa, I will be 12 weeks on sunday. I know how you feel. All of the sudden, I am able to eat. I mean - not a ton - but still food is food! I've already lost 13 pounds! Totally okay because I'm overweight (5'3 and now 151.5.) I really don't look overweight at all. But I wish I was smaller. I am still really exhausted though. I was haveing such bad cramping, that I asked my OB/GYN to check for the heartbeat yesterday! I have an advantage though, I work for my OB/GYN. LOL. My first heartbeat check, the provider but the doppler on my stomach and heard the heartbeat immeditaly. This time, it took like 7 minutes. OMG, I was panicking. But we found it. It was good. I had 2 u/s at like 5 and 6 weeks because of bleeding. They were fine. And I get to hear the heartbeat every 4 weeks otherwise. **I called my insurance and they said that they would cover as many ultrasounds as the provider ordered. So I told my Doc that, and she said that she would order another f/u one at 14 weeks. I already have the appt. It didn't matter to her because my insurance said they would cover it. So you should at least ask. I'm glad that I did!

*I had the ultrasound at 5 and 9 weeks*

I called my high risk ob's office and spoke to the rn. She said it was perfectly normal to lose the symptoms around this time. She agreed with butterflies that the placenta takes over. We talked about the fact that my u/s was several weeks away but she just sympathized that it is hard to wait. She did not say they would schedule an earlier one. I know my insurance would pay for as many as they ordered because I have had several in the past due to endometriosis. It is just frustrating that you have no idea how the baby is doing for weeks and weeks at a time.

Thanks. My symptoms came back, thank goodness. Never thought I'd be happy about feeling nauseated!

Sorry. Accidentally answered on the wrong thread.

I am a worrier. It is me and my husband teases me all the time about it.

This is my second pregnancy. The first one i m/c at around 7 weeks. For this one I had a clot in my uterus and had very very light bleeding (brown blood, not a lot) from about week 6-9 (I am now 10 weeks). My gynae said as long as it was brown, not red and less than a period it wasn't anything to worry about. I had an ultrasound at around 7 weeks and it showed a very health fetus and heart beat. I am not worried that I have physically m/c, because the first time there was a lot of blood!

At around 8.5 weeks I stopped being tired. My only real symptom was I could go to bed in the middle of the day and sleep for two hours which is not like me. My breasts were slighly sore in the first few weeks, but now they are only tender when I push on them deliberately. Where as before my bras annoyed me and it hurt to hug somebody.

I am worried that my symtoms have gone away, and being the worrier the baby has died. Being the worrier, just over a week ago I took another pregnancy test which came up with a strong positive.

I was wondering if the fetus did die, and you hand't physically had a m/c if the hormones would come back to normal. If that happened, would it still be positive on a preg test?

My next ultra sound is not for another 3 weeks. My gynae is away and there is an emergency service over the next 2 weeks. But I feel silly going to it and asking for an u/s just for a little bit of reassurance! as we have been told it is only for emergencies.

If anybody could answer the hormone and preg test that would be great. Thanks

I was wondering the same thing about the prego test. I'm a worrier too. my first prego and no u/s yet. waiting til 9/2...which they say will be 7 weeks (I think it will be 8, but either way)...I just watn to amke sure it's not a molar or tubal pregnancy...Seriously, aren't there risks with those and wouldn't the dr. want to know too? if it was a tubal pregnancy, would my hcg have doubled as it did (85 on 13dpo and 216 on 15dpo)?
