Hi Just because women over 35 sometimes have different needs than the younger mom's, thought I would start this thread too!!!! I just found out I was pregnant on January 3rd. I have a due date of September 12th. I have a 2 year old little girl as well. I have had some recent losses one last cycle which was a chemcial pregnancy and the cycle before which ended at 8w6d the embryo never developed properly and the heart never started beating. I also had an ectopic last Sept '07. I have also had a missed mc at 13w6 days in '05 but fell pregnant with my daughter 1 cycle later after having had a D&C.
I had my first beta drawn at 15 dpo's and it came back at 338. I am waiting today on the results of my second beta. My doctor put me on progesterone to take 2dpo's I am still on it but she said I could stop. I am a little nervous to stop for fear of mc.
Any other September Mommies over 35 who would like support or just want to go through our pregnancies together would love to hear from you. Wishing everyone all the best!!

Hi Kristin72! We've talked on another thread. I'm 43. I'm due in September too. I think September 10th, assuming things continue going well. I also have a 13 month dd.

Kristin72 - January 11th, 2009 3:46 PM

Hi Countrymom, Nice to hear from you and again congratulations!! I have been worried the last couple of days. I have had several losses one in Nov and in Oct. I have had 5 in total. Anyway I am just hoping this is the keeper. So far so good..but I am very cautious because of my former losses. I have my first OB app on Tues then I am sure a early ultrasound will follow. how about you. When was your LMP do you know your due date yet. I wish you all the best!!

Hello ladies--I'm turning 40 this month and am 7 weeks pregnant, due September 1 if all goes according to plan, and with a 16 month old daughter. Kristin, I haven't had anywhere near the extent of problems you have but my first pregnancy I had a blighted ovum at 12 weeks that was just devastating. Even now, having had a healthy child after the BO, I'm still nervous and hesitant to tell everyone. I look forward to the day I feel like I can celebrate! I hope that day comes for you soon. Please keep us posted about your betas!

Kristin72 - January 11th, 2009 5:15 PM

Hi mary, Nice to hear from you..and Congratulations to you as well. I hate to harp on all my losses, but I guess it has been a reality of life. I am cautiously optimistic. I will not tell anyone until I am atleast 12 weeks. I have not even told my own mother. So we shall see. I should get the next beta result on Monday. I went off my progesterone as my levels seemed pretty good. So I figure the progesterone is ok by now. Anyway I hope to hear more from you and other women who are pregnant. Having buddies in your month allows you to go through things at around the same times..it is a great journey. I came to this board with my former successful pregnancy in Nov'06. I found alot of support through my first pregnancy. Update when you can girls. Congratulations again!!

Good morning Ladies!! Hoping everyone is doing well. I have not had too many symptoms so I have been worried. Anyone else? I get my 3rd beta back today so,,I shall see if my numbers are still doubling. Other than that..Just hoping everything is ok. My first OB app is tomorrow. Update when you can. :)

norma jeane - January 12th, 2009 12:50 PM

Kristin72, I'm in the same boat. I found out on Jan 3rd too, my due date is Sept 11th according to my last af. I will be 35 at the end of this month and I also have a 2 1/2 yr old daughter! I had a m/c at 12 weeks last year but this one feels different so far..............lots of symptoms. Congrats to all!

norma jeane - January 12th, 2009 12:57 PM

Krisin ~ I hardly had any symptoms with my first child so don't let that discourage you. Positive, positive, positive. I'll pray all of our little embryo's are snuggled up nice and snug and that's where they'll stay 'til September! ;)

Kristin72 - January 14th, 2009 1:12 PM

Hello LAdies, how is everyone doing? HAs anyone had an ultrasound yet or a first OB app? I had mine yesterday..just went over the usual stuff. I was given a rec to have an utlrasound in the 6th week so sometime next week. I had my third beta it went from 786 to 1612. I had another draw yesterday which would be 23dpo's. The # 1612 was at 19dpo's. Sunday they were closed so I did ot get a beta done on 21 dpo's. Anyway I will find out this third result today and the number should be in the 6000's I hoping things are still progressing well.
Does anyone know if numbers can still double and there not be a heartbeat? Anyway, I am just paranoid. Any more updates?
Normajeane and Maryg, Wecome and Congratulations to both of you!!!! Yay!!! September Mommies!!!!! All the best!

maryg - January 14th, 2009 8:15 PM

I haven't had an appointment yet. I'm looking forward to it though! Kristin--congratulations on your betas! I hope your ultrasound goes great.

countrymom - January 14th, 2009 11:21 PM

Kristin, it's unlikely the numbers would double. It might just go up 15% or so w/o a heartbeat.. I had this happen in July. We never got a heartbeat. My hcg was up to 25,000 and it did go up but only to 27,000 or so. I think you'll see your heartbeat with no problem. My heartbeat u/s is on Friday and my 5th draw. I am so hoping we see our little one with heart activity.

Hi everyone.
I just turned fortythree on New Years day.
Scan yesterday showed a viable embryo with fhb of 106. Due date Spetember 8th.
However, bleeding beside sack is showing but they weren't too concerned. I was-especially when cramping started....back to docs today-complete bedrest(hard when I'm running two businesses). Expected no h/b yesterday because of bleeding and cramps. Both hubby and I were in total shock. I'd already had a morning of big cries.Ultrasound specialists told me to not bother going back to docs yesterday despite bleeding and period like cramps. Was ringing triage at fourthirty this morning because pain was so bad. Docs still surprisingly positive. Midwife not so encouraging although she has seen many with my symtoms go on to have healthy bubs.. Threatened m/c is diagnosis with a 50/50 chance. Darling Hubby won't let me even go to the loo without holding his hand. I've had two m/c in the past three years and the fhb was always very low. This one is apparently normal for size/age. In shock. Hoping I'm one of the lucky one's. We have been trying for eight years. (I have three grwonup kids to my previous husband) Cross your bits girls. x

MissJacqui - January 15th, 2009 1:16 AM

Oh...I'm six weeks and two days today. Cramping has subsided bleeding less. It was quite heavy and I had prepared myself for the worst. Team od docs said the best thing for 'older mums' is to keep stress down as much as possible....Boy did I raise my eyebrows at that one. Congratulations to all the beautiful 'older mummies'. It can be done. One of my clients has a 24yr old and a 18yr old and a seven year old and a two year old. She's fifty in six months. :)
