It's suggested that in your last trimester that you don't reach high above your head.. you have a ways to go before you need to worry. I had an ultrasound done yesterday and I was 5wks and 2days as well, are you due Nov. 27th? Anyway, there was nothing but an empty sac.. couldn't yet see the yolk, or fetalpole and definitely no heartbeat. I've been rescheduled for 10days which is the 9th. Hoping to see some activity by then. Tell your mom not to freak you out!! |

sounds like mom is just trying to get your into good habits now so you don't do these things later on in pregnancy. It's like the whole sleeping on your left side..not on your back, belly, or right side....just getting into good practice! Right now, you're baby doesn't even have an umbilical cord! Good luck! |

I have always heard this was an old wives tale. I have 2 boys now and am pregnant again and never refrained from stretching my arms above my head, my kids are fine. |

It is an old wives tale. Putting your arms over your head WILL NOT cause the cord to wrap around the neck. This only happens, in rare cases, because the baby is very active and gets its self tangled up. This is in no way your fault if it happens. So no wrries ladies! =] |
