I am having to worst morning sickness. I'll be 10 weeks in 2 days and I've been going through this for 3 weeks now. I was sick with my girls but not this bad. Its lasts ALL day and I lost 5 pounds when I went to the doctor. She seems unconcerned. Said its normal to loss weight in the first tri if you have bad morning sickness. I also have all this excess saliva in my mouth that makes me want to gag as well. I want this to be a good pregnancy but I have been miserable. Sometimes I just cry because I can get no relief. Doc has put me on Phenigrin(spelling?) and Reglan and nothing works. I've tried ginger, cokes, sprite, crackers, and still no relief. Has anybody else been going through this?

I am SO sorry you are going through this! I cannot even imagine how hard that has to be. I had m/s from about 6-8 weeks everyday and now I get it about once a week. I will also be 10 weeks on Wed! Have you tried preggie pops? Or what also worked for me--get a fresh lemon, cut off a slice and smell it. I know it sounds weird, but it really works! Good luck to, I hope you get relief real soon!

Thank you for the input. I have tried the preggie pops but they leave a bad after taste in my mouth so I quit using them.

I feel for you. I am 11 weeks today and I have been going through the ALL DAY sickness since 6 weeks. Before that, I had the queasy stomach, but when 6 weeks hit I was really sick and vomitting all the time. I have lost 15 pounds so far and am so tired of being sick. My poor husband -- he wants to help, but there is really nothing he can do for me. I am not a good sick person and have cried a lot over the weeks. My doctor gave me 2 prescriptions Zofran and phenegran. Zofran is really expensive, so he gave me phenegran in case it was too expensive and my ins. would not cover it. Zofran worked great, but gave me bad headaches that took me days to get rid of. So, I am on phenegran, which works, but I still have some queasiness. I am sorry that I can't give any good advice. I have tried everything - - Seabands, crackers, ginger ale, popsicles, sprite, toast, coke, etc. I was not able to find preggie pops (I live in a small town) that does not seem to have anything up to date. Good luck and I hope it gets better for you soon!

ca8 and Clarissa23, thanks for your advice. CA8, I know how you feel. Preggie pops didn't work for me though so don't feel bad that you can't get them. I don't handle being sick well either so I cry a lot and I'm trying to work a full time job on top of everything. I was in the hospital last Tuesday from dehydration. They had to pump fluids in me and there are honestly some days I'm so sick I just don't want to go on. I know that sounds aweful but thats how bad its been. My husband is like yours... He doesn't know what to do which there is nothing he can do. My doc has not tried me on Zophran yet. Phenegran didn't work for me just made me tired but when i woke up I'd throw up again. Ijust keep praying that maybe this part is about over with.

i feel ya on the horrible all day sickness. when i wake up i gag and all that comes up is water. unless i've eaten breakfast. i've learned that i have to eat right when i get up or else i'll get sick in the middle of trying to get ready for work. i hate working while being pregnant. i get sick at work and feel like crap all day, can barely keep my eye's open. i've tried saltines, sprite, bread, nothing seems to help. now i'm so sick of eating crackers that everytime i see them i gag. unfortunately we're saving up to buy a house next year so i have to continue to work all the way up till the day i go into labor or else my insurance won't cover the birth. it's ridiculous. but got to make sacrifices for the baby.

ok, i'm trying something different. I can't take this anymore. I went to my local health food store and bought something called 'Ipecacuanha'. Its a homeopathy remedy for morning sickness. If anybody wants to read about it the site to go to is http://www.fertility-facts.

. I can't tell you if it works yet as I have just taken it but we shall see. Jamie

Hey all-The Sea Bands (accupressure bands you wear around your wrist for motion sickness) are available in pharmacies and have really been helping me. I literally wear them about 22 hours a day--even to sleep in, because I found I woke up without as much nausea. I called them & they said in test, the Sea Bands helped about 70% of pregnant women. I think there are other brands too. My doctor also took me off my pre-natals for now and put me on just 1 mg of folic acid. Evidently the high amount of iron in the pre-natals can really hurt your stomach and you don't need it as much in the first trimester. Best of luck!

jldaniels-I know what mean about morning sickness it sucks. I was feeling the same way a couple weeks ago. Turns out it was my prenatal vitamins. Now I am off them and feel great. But when I was getting my morning sickness I found ginger ale helped and dry foods.

PrincessesMom - July 19th, 2006 7:22 PM

Unfortunately, I'm an expert on m/s. I've had 3 of the worst pregnancies I've ever heard of. If you tell me what triggers yours (getting up in the morning, smells, motion, etc.) I'll try to help! Hang in there!!!
