My LMP was Dec. 26. I got a blood test done last Thusrday and they said I was 5 weeks and 2 days. I can not get in to see a doc till next week. Is that ok? Am I putting my pregnancy at risk by having to wait long? Sorry, 1st pregnancy and a little confused, thanks.

Most doctors wont see you till you're around 8 weeks or more. I am 8 weeks and going for my first exam today.

Your okay. All they do is take a urine sample, blood test, blood pressure, weigh you..just like a normal check up. Nothing to get excited over.

Hi! My first appt was scheduled for 8w3d, but I started to spot at 5w1d I was so scared so I called my dr. thet did U/S and it showed sac and yoplk. It was to early to see the baby, so I did folowup U/S and saw a baby and HB. So what I'm trying to say is that your appt is fine, but in case you are worried or have some spotting you can always get in early. The only think that I think they should tell women in advance is to take their prenatals. Folic acid is so important in those first few weeks.
