I am 5 weeks pregnant, and I've noticed not much of an appetite over the last week or so. I'm not really having nausea. I am normally someone who loves to eat. I am the type of person who does not even loose my appetite when I'm sick. I was kindof surprised at this. You always hear about women being so hungry. I guess its still early on, and I'm sure my hunger will increase in the second trimester. anyone else experienced this?

Debbie - from what I've heard many women don't have an appetite and often even lose weight in their first few months. Probably not a good idea if you're thin to start with... I didn't notice a change in my appetitie until about the 6th week - and then I couldn't stop eating! I ate like a horse for about 3 weeks, gained 4 pounds, and now (I'm 9 wks 2 dys) am feeling completely back to normal. It's almost like when there's a growth surge in the baby I can't get enough calories, and other days it just seems like nothing's happening. But things seem to be fine with me and the baby... so... that's my 2 cents!

Hi Debbie, I am 6wks prg and I find that my appetite has also decreased. I am turned off of most foods. I'm glad that I am not the only one!!!

Celine- Its wierd but the only thing I feel like eating right now is subs...hot toasted subs. I am not hungry for anything else. Its so bizarre!!

I have read that lack of appetite can be due to constipation. It's like you're body is saying--nothing more in until I can get some out!! lol. DEBBIE - make sure those subs are toasted my dr says to atleast 160 degrees. I have been given STRICT orders by my dr NO LUNCH MEATS that have not been heated up. I'm dyin'; over here 'cause I love sandwiches!!

Monique- I did not know you were not supposed to eat deli meats!! Turkey is my favorite. Is it b/c of bacteria in the meat?
