O.k i have been watching this site for a while. And i was hoping this annoying problem would just go away. I am now 7 weeks pregnant and have had diarrhea since 5 dpo. i am fairly certain that it is pregnancy hormones at work. Has anyone experienced this and come up with a natural remedy to ease symptoms? My Dr thinks it is my diet. Pregnancy hormones and maternity pill are constipating. There is nothing in pregnancy books regarding diarrhea. Thank-you

I think diarreah is normal during the first weeks of your pregnancy, I had the same problem and I got worried but It was normal It went away by itself so I guess you should eat more fiber, a have a friend of mines that got pregnant right after me and she found out about her pregnancy because of the diarreah, and also 2 months later my sister got pregnant and she had the same sympton so don't worry about that , it should go away after a while.

Use Penaten Cream--it's great, slightly messy but very effective and safe

I am 9 weeks pregnant and have had diarrhea on and off but sometimes its accompanied by annoying cramps. The cramps pretty much subside once my diarrhea goes away but still should I be concerned with these cramps.

I, too, just found out i'm pregnant yesterday, and have had diarrhea for 3 days. I guess I'd rather it come out that end then throwing up! No morning sickness here...though I am concerned about the baby getting enough nutrients. Iose so much water! Its sooo important to keep drinking at least 64oz of water a day.

Hi this is my fourth pregnancy (2 healthy children and 1 miscarriage in June2005). I have very loose bowel movements as well and dont remember having this with my other 3 pregnancies. I thought your supposed to be constipated when your pregnant!

Did this get better for any of you? I am experiencing the same thing and am just 4 weeks preg. What can I do? Right now I am only eating very bland foods like mashed potatoes, animal crackers, gingerale, noodles.....any suggestions for me?

drink gatorade to help you out when having bouts of diarrhea. it replaces the necessary electrolights in the body so you dont dehydrate

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM FEVER AND THE DIARRHEA FOR A MONTH. THE DIABETICS DIET AND THE BLAND DIET ARE HELPING MY SYMPTOMS.

SO glad I found this. I too am experiencing frequent bowl movements, I am 6 weeks along. So scared, I've read that its a sign of miscarrage!! I thought you were meant to get the constipation. We need advice... has anyone had this and carried full term???? Help? I dont want this to be a sign of m/c!

I came on line to see if my symptom of diarrhea was normal. I am in my 10 th week my Dr. told me not to worry but it is so annoying as I thought I was going to be constipated. I was told to drink gatorade and relax.

I am having upset stomach/diarrhea and I am 5 weeks pregnant. The cramps that sometimes accompany it go away when the diarrhea subsides. The cramps you shouldn't worry about unless you have spotting or bleeding associated with it.

Hmm what a shit*y question. hehe. I have crohnic diarreah from my crohns disease+surgery. Its better now cause of my pregnancy, but it definatly does have its moments. Treat it as a stomach flu. Take looottttss of water/juice/liquids. And stay away from greasy stuff and spicey stuff.
