First Dr Appointment??

i am 8 weeks pregnant with my first. I am going to begin seeing a new dr at a new practice for the first time this week. What should I expect at my appointment. do they do a lot of blood work(I faint anytime I get a needle or shot!) Will I be there a long time? Any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Congrats of your pregnancy, Traci. They'll probably do a vaginal ultrasound and you'll get to see the baby and heartbeat : ) And yes they will do some blood work. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do fine.

I had my first ultrasound and blood work before my first exam. I am 9w/2d--I go Friday for an exam. I think it depends on your doctor. They have to do blood work, you want them to. Good luck!
