I am only 5 weeks pregnant, and I have only slept 4 hours for the last 3 nights. I am tired, but I cant go to sleep. I just found out I was pg 3 days ago, so I dont know if it is the excitement not allowing me to sleep, or what. anyone experienced this before? is there anything to take to help sleep?

Amanda, I am 7 weeks pregnant and I am having trouble sleeping also. I can't get comfortable and my mind is racing so I know what you are going through but I don't think there is anything we can take. I just try to sleep whenever I can . good luck

thanks Nicole-- It is unfortunate we can pop a tylenol PM...those always help me sleep. I guess I will just have to expect some tiredness from here on out (even after the baby comes)....its all worth it though! Good luck to you! Try to catch some snooze time when you can.

Amanda, I'm in the same boat. I've got all these things racing through my head at night when I;m laying down to sleep! So annoying. I went to bed at 9:30 last night, fell asleep until 12 and couldn't go back. I read until 1 and then tossed and turned until 7am. Not fun!

I have the same problem. I'm 10 weeks now, and found out about the pregnancy 6 weeks ago. I have to get up about 3 times every night to use the bathroom, and then I can't go back to sleep and my mind races. It's frustrating when you know you need to sleep and just CAN'T!!!

Nicole or Suebecca- I am probably being paranoid, but can it effect pregnancy in a bad way if this continues? only getting a few hours of sleep at night? by morning i feel soooo tired, but I have to get up at 7am to get ready for work. There should be a mandatory rule where women who are pregnant are not allowed to work. It sucks being this tired and having to work all day!

Amanda, I agree I wanted to cry when my alarm went off this moring. I am lucky because I work part time but that is even diffiuclt. I am not sure if it is harmful I would not think so it just makes our lives more diffiuclt. try to get some sleep
