No Hcg Test Needed?

Did anyone else's doctor not order hcg levels in their bloodwork? It seems like everyone's always talking about their levels and watching them double and all that, but my OB said it's not really needed since she's already seen the baby's heartbeat. My OB for my first baby did it. My 2nd I mc'd, so I don't remember much of the details, just was surprised to not get that test this time.

I only had it done because of bleeding at the beginning of 2 of my pregnancies, which i lost, but then for this one they did it because of my past. If your baby is developed enough to where they are seeing a heartbeat already, then there is no reason to test hcg. Congrats!

with my first pregnancy they never did that for me.
