I spotted during my first pregnancy a lot. There isn't anything to worry about without cramping and a lot of blood. Keep the faith hun! Let us know what the doctor says. I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

i spotted around my eighth week too, this is also my first pregnancy so i was freaked too. Everyone assured me that it's normal. I agree with bernardetteoc unless its alot of blood and bad cramping thats when to worry. I about 10 weeks now (i think the doc hasnt told me naything yet) so hopefully we both get through the pregnancies ok :)

I am 8w5d. Woke up yesterday with spotting and then it escalated to a heavier bleeding. I too freaked out..(and this is my second) I however have had 5 losses) I went to have an utlrasound and it turns our the baby is fine. The bleeding was caused by a sub chronic hematoma. This is a small clot that forms during the implantation stage. Usually it resolves itself..but you are advised to take it easy and keep well hydrated as dehydration can cause the uterus to contract.
There is always a reason spotting occurs. however the reasoning is not often discovered. My advice is to get an ultrasound if there is a problem hopefully it can be discovered.
My bleeding is less today..and more of a brownish colour..I hope it resolves itself.

Kristin you just reminded me, I do remember now what they said caused the bleeding. I went in for an ultra sound after spotting and they said it was a corpus luteum cyst. It went away and I went on to have a healthy baby.

I also wanted you all to know I was cramping too. So cramping doesn not always mean you are miscarrying. For me it felt like my af was in full force.
bernadetteocs, did your cyst resolves itself before you delivered your baby? Did you spot more than one time during your pregnancy? Are you currently pergnant?

Went to the doc this moring and got an ultra sound, everything looks good. I also have stopped spotting since last night. She said she thinks it might be my body just getting it out but if I start bleeding again to call. No cramping or anything but she said even if there is no cramping, it could of also been an infection and need to take care of it. No worries ladies! dont stress it is so normal, just go to doc right away no matter what.

Kristin, I spotted probably 5 or 6 times, and it wasn't just a light wipe. They said that the cyst was there to help support the pregnancy and that it would go away, and it was gone by my ultrasound at 20 weeks. That was my first daughter and I didn't spot with my other children. I am now pregnant with my fourth child.

Hey ladies, I am only about 5 weeks pregnant with my first and have experienced spotting several times...the first few times it was very short lived and the doctor said it was fine...however, I just moved out of state and after the stressful 3 day move I started spotting and it lasted for 10 hrs...it was heavier than last time but it was still only when I wiped and no cramps. Unfortunately, I can't go to the doctor until we have insurance next week...should I be comcerned?

I posted earlier that I was spotting and started spotting again today. I go to the doc in a couple days so I am going to wait. I am not sure if physical stress has anything to do with it because when I spotted last time I had a rough day at work as well as today. Will let you know.

Tiffani, If you are spotting..this may be your body telling you to rest and relax. And yes extra stress can aggravate things even worse. In the early stages we are dealing with tiny cells that are very suseptible to many things. We need to create the best environment for the baby to grow, This does not take intoaccount chromosonal problems but normal pregnancies that are suseptible chanes within the mother. Without having an ultrasound my advice is for you to relax and keep well hydrated. Dehydration can cause your uterus to contract. Keep us posted. Hope yo can de stress..that is what I am trying to do as well.

I don't want to scare anyone but please call your doctor anyway. Yes, a little spotting can be normal but it doesn't have to be a lot of blood or even cramping to be a miscarriage. I had only a little bit of blood (when I wiped) and absolutely no cramping for two of my miscarriages. I have also had a lot of blood and cramping for one of my miscarriages. So it could be nothing...or it could be something--best to call and get checked for at the least, peace of mind. I hope everything works out for you.

Did you continue to have signs of pregnancy after your miscarriage?

with all 4 of my pregnancies (only one resulted in a child) i didn't have many symptoms at all...mainly just tired and heartburn...and yes, i had those even after i m/c.

As long as it's pink, and not bright red you are perfectly fine. Just keep that in mind, hun. And try to stay calm, you're baby can feel your panic.

I began spotting at 4 weeks and it hasn't stopped. Sometimes brown, sometimes a dark purple. Had an ultrasound today at 6 weeks and saw a heartbeat, so I've decided not to worry any more. From what I hear, it is SO common...
