Is anyone else getting anxiety that they will be a bad mom? I can't stop thinking that I may be a bad mom and its making me so nervous. I'm due in a few weeks and as the days get closer I get more and more anxiety. What if I don't have the motherly instincts that everyone is always talking about??? Anyone else feeling this way?

I can relate for sure. Especially since my nerves have been so bad due to 8 animals that live inside with us and a Mom that is just GROSS!

The motherly instincts kick in after the baby is born for sure.I think every first time mom has that anxiety. Don't worry you will learn right away, everyone's parenting and baby care techniques are different, you will develop one that is right for you. in my experience ,anyway. I suggest maybe reading a couple baby care books, it might make you feel a little more confident, like you aren't diving into it completely clueles. Good Luck :)

i had horrible dreams during all my pregnancies at i was neglecting or abandoning my babies. i litterally woke up in tears and thought i was going to an aweful detatched parent. i think all that did was solidify my resolve to give my babies all the loving attention and care i possibly could. they are 6 and 2 now and some of the happiest kids you'll ever meet. i love them sooooo much! i'm 11 weeks pregnant now and already having nightmares about locking my baby in the car. but now i know it's just a silly dream, i already love this baby more than words can express! those maternal feelings come over you like a hurricane. you'll feel it, it's amazing.
