Help- D&C Needed?

I am only 4 weeks pregnant & my doctor told me I am miscarrying (I am having problems that I really would rather not go into depth about). My doctor told me I should start noticing some cramping and bleeding but he never said I needed a d&C. If I don't bleed do I need a d&C? If I do bleed do I need a d&C? I have read alot on here contradicting both. I don't know anyone who has miscarried before. I desperately need some guidance so I can be sure I am getting the best possible care. Thanks.

if your doctor has not said anything about a d&c you you feel that you need answers and cannot get them from your obgyn you need to get a second opinion, i had problems where a doctor that i had seen told me that i needed to have several leep procedures where they burn a layer of your cervix off, he had done 3 in 2 years time and wanted to do another, he would not tell me why so i went and got a second opinion which may have saved my life, I did not have much of a cervix left and had he done that procedure again i would not have had a cervix and could have died from ANY infection. go get a second opinion, and God Bless you! I have began to bleed now. Do I need a d & C? Please help.........

Dont be pressured into having a D&C if you don't want to. Some women can still bleed in early pregnancy and not miscarried. Ask your doctor how long can you wait before a D&C is absolutely needed. If you don't have to do it now, wait for about two weeks more before you go in for a test. Preferably to have a transvaginal ultrasound to see if you have a viable embryo. Hope you are alright.

I had a friend who went through this. She went to the er and they told her she was going to miscarry. Then they sent her home. A little while later she miscarried and then they did a D&C. I think if that happened I would want one because of the risk of infection. But I would definitely be sure that I had miscarried first. Are they sure there is no hope? If you are that unsure get a second opinion. My mom also has had a D&C. I dont think there is a lot of risk involved if that is what you are worried about.Sorry for your loss.God bless!

Thanks everyone. I really do not want to go through a d&C. I am pretty sure I have now miscarried. I had unbearable cramping w/alot of bleeding and clots.
