Hi I'm new at this and I'm confused. I always have a irregular period and also I been trying to get pregnant for 4 years now. About four weeks I started to have some I think pregnancy symptoms. I started feeling nausaus, getting headache, upset stomach, acid reflux and my nipples are so sensitive to touch. Since I haven't got my period I took a hpt and it came back negative. After a week I took another hpt and it also came back negative. I was a little dissapointed but relieved at the same time. I finally got my period but I only have it for two days which it never happen to me before. After two weeks my sore nipples are gone but the other symptoms are still there, also I started noticing that boobs are even and I'm eating more. What should I do? Should I wait 'till I stop having my period? or Is it all in my head? Any help will do. thanks

Four weeks after pregnancy symptoms start is quite appropriate to test. If you can't get a positive you should call the doc and ask about cysts.

Irregular cycles are usually caused by something. Sometimes if you have irregular cycles, you might not be ovulating, or ovulating really late. 4 years is a long time to try and not concieve. You have a fertility issue going on and you should address it with your Dr. He may be able to prescribe clomid or something to help you out. Having a ovarian cyst or pcos, or just hormonal imbalances can mimic pregnancy symptoms and cause alot of what you have been feeling. Retest in a few days and make a appointment to be seen about your fertility isssues.

About three years ago my old family doctor did an ultrasound because I complaining to him that I having cramping even after my period. He found out that I have one kind of cysts the dissolve on its own and can switch from right ovary to my left. He also told me that there's no point of doing a surgery to remove it because it will just come back. My new family doctor took about a year to refer me to an OB gyne because he thinks that I just making it up. He even asked what is my reason why I need to be refer to a specialist and I simple told him that I want to know what's going on. My OB gyne give me a prescription for bc to help my period to be regular and he also told me that if I want to get pregnant I just need to stop taking it. I stop taking bc since january this year and this is the first time that all of this symptoms occured all in one time. Thanks for the advise I really appreciate it. I'm just waiting for my period this month and if didn't come I'll do another test and if negative I'll make a appointment with my OB gyne.
