I thought that c-sections were usually unplanned unless you've already had one. I had 3 vaginally. All were very easy, very fast labors so no horror stories from me. All happy and funny memories.

I had a c-section after a failed induction. The recovery was fairly painful, but I've heard that recovering from a vaginal birth can be uncomfortable too. I didn't get to hold my baby for 24 hours after she was born, and she had to stay in intensive care because she had fluid in her lungs. Apparently a vaginal delivery squeezes the fluid out of the lungs but a c-section doesn't. I have a hernia from the c-section, so I will be having another c-section, to have the hernia repaired and my tubes tied at the same time.

My wife's vaginal delivery is real fresh in my mind.... It went relatively well, with a few moments of nervousness because her temperature rose to 101 and the fetal heartrate kept being high at some point. The doctor's experience helped us a lot in making it go smoothly. I wished he was there the whole "pushing" time..... it would have taken 20 minutes of pushing versus 90, but we can't complain at this point. Most good gynos we know suggest that you give it your best to have a vaginal and only go cesarian if needed. Good luck to you!

I had natural with both and felt fantastic straight after. I had a pethadine shot during labour with my first and i went drug free with my second and i felt alot better after my second was born
