I have a cyst right now and am 34 weeks pregnant. It is the size of a cantelope and my doctor is calling it a complex cyst. What now? He wants to remove it when I give birth through a c-section. Anyone else in this boat?

I am 17 weeks pregnant and have a Cyst on my left ovary. I have a ultrasound every month. I had my last one yesterday and the very first reaction to my 9cm cyst was "we need to get this out". Then after talking to the doctors in the practice my doctor decides to wait and see how it will grow in the next month. Over the 17 weeks it has doubled in size. I am not feeling any discomfort from it so my doc wants to wait till birth if possible. I am kind of nervous about this but I am trusting my doc.

Good luck with yours and keep us all informed.

i actually just went to the doctor today for my 12 week sonogram and he said that he saw a 6cm cyst. I didn't even know i had one. I am really scared but the doctor said that we will just monitor it and usually in pregnancy they go away. I am still very worried but he said the even if it needs to be removed during pregnancy it will not hurt the baby. Ha also told me that he just delivered a baby vaginally from a woman who had a 12cm cyst and there was no problem. Also after delivery, if the cyst is still there then they can remove it laproscpicly as opposed to surgery when you are pregnant. I trust my doctor and i'm just going to say a lot more prayers each day. Good luck with you and try not to worry. although i know form experience it's a very hard thing not to do.

I just miscarried at 9 weeks and since the miscarry they have found a blockage in my left kidney ureter. I went for a catscan today and they found 2 cysts (on on each ovary) the bigger one being 4cm. They say it could be the cause of the blocked ureter as it passes right next to the cyst. Has anyone else experienced a blocked ureter(kidney tube) from cysts or pregnancy. I am really wanting to fall pregnant again soon, but have to wait and see if they can sort the problem with the blockage out! *Sigh*

i have polycystic ovarian syndrome and cysts. one cyst turned into a endometriosis that surgery got rid of, now im pregnant finally and i still have a good sized cyst on my ovary the good news is it wont get heaps bigger because its just a fuid filled hormonal cyst and it should burst or could get bigger but its nothing to worry about if its kept a eye on. theses days i do not notice if a cyst has burst because iv always sufered from pain down there but if you feel extreme pain and your worried at any time go see your doctor. your doctor might be being vague coz usualy cysts come and go and if you had a condition with out of control cysts you would of been told they can tell through blood tests. also know where your cyst is located it also has alot to do with if it was to be dangerous the effect it can have.
