Chantal...I am still keeping my fingers crossed for you. With my first son I had absolutely NO symptoms until I was a week past my missed period. I didn't even know or feel pregnant. So that can keep you encouraged. It was then that I started the nausea and fatigue...so stay positive. The problem that I am having is knowing whether or not the symptoms that I am feeling are from the prometrium or pregnancy...see, the first time I never started the prometrium until I was already pregnant...not like I did this time. So, I have had those cramping spells about 5 days ago and then the breast tenderness and largeness. So, I too am confused because I don't know where it is coming from! Why are we so complicated? :) I sure do hope that we are harboring little beans...I guess time will tell. Have a great weekend and I will talk to you soon:)

Hey Chantal...and all others: I was due today and tested and it was negative. So, just so I get this right, I stop the prometrium in order to get my period right? And then next month again I start inserting on day 17 right? This is my first month doing all of this crazy stuff so I just want to make sure that I am doing it right. I am pretty bummed out right now, but I guess that I have to keep my spirits up to try again next month. Please let me know how all of you are doing...Thank you again for the help...talk to you soon:)

Amberlys Mom - March 4th, 2007 7:41 PM

Sorry to hear that you tested negative hun, but that doesnt necessarily mean you are not pregnant. I was due Dec 13, and took a test and it was negative, I was bummed out and went back to the drawing board but a few days passed and i never got my period. So then I tested again, negative again. On Dec 24, 11 days later (Christmas Eve) I suddenly just felt I needed to do another test, so I took it and it was positive. Apparanly I implanted late or ovulated a little later or something. I am now 14 weeks today, so never give up!!!

Thanks Amberlys Mom! I am glad to hear that is truly success when doing this "little yellow pill thing!" Were you on the prmetrium too? Did you stop the prometrium when you tested negative the first time? I didn't take mine today but feel weird because I know that things like this can happen...and by not having the prgesterone I don't want anything to go wrong if in fact I am pregnant...all so complicated:) I am going to give my ob/gyn a call in the morning and hear their reccomendation on the subject and go from there. Thank you for sharing your encouragement with me and I will let you know what happens! Good luck to you:)

Hi Jonelle! so sorry to hear about the neg. result! Have your Beta taken just in case; like Amberlys mom said she was positive!!! I was thinking about you all weekend and couldn't access my computer (internet) at home. My thoughts and prayers are still with you for next month. keep me posted; my test is due Wednesday!

Amberlys Mom - March 5th, 2007 10:51 AM

Hi guys! Well, I took the prometrium too, till my 12th week and then the doc took me off. But I was different than ya'll. The doc put me on it AFTER I tested positive because I have a history of miscarriages, (3 last year). I had no idea you could take it while you were doing the ovulation kits and stuff. But man that stuff works!!! I entirely agree with Chantel, go get your beta checked first, then if thats neg I would go back to the drawing board. You never know whats going on in there! Good luck with your test On wed Chantel!! I will pray for you and check in on Wed! love and baby luck!

Thank you Chantal and Amberlys Mom...the support is needed! You guys are great. Amberlys Mom: I was doing the prometrium the first time just like you did, after you were already pregnant. But now trying to conceive again, they put me on it during the ovulation cycle so that I can maintain the pregnancy...I have a known luteal phase deficiency and have a hard time getting pregnant. So this is all new to me doing it this way. I called my ob/gyn this morning to make sure that I am supposed to stop the prometrium to get my period and the nurse said to stay on the prometrium until I hear from her today. She is going to talk to the Doc and callme back...her response was to stay on the prometrium until I hear otherwise. Is that weird to you guys? I would think that if it was negative then I would have to stop it in order to get my period...but then again what do I know:) So we shall see today what they want me to do. Do you think it is possible that I had a negative result but could still be pregnant? I give up:) I just have to stay happy, positive and strong for my 2 1/2 year old that needs his mommy...no time for moping:) Let me know girls and hugs and luck to you both:)

minkey - March 5th, 2007 12:51 PM

Hey Jonelle - hang in there; I totally agree with Amberly's mom about testing negative only to find out that you are in fact pregnant. The same thing happened to me -- I tested the day after my missed period and it was negative. But 5 days later when I still didn't get my period, I tested again and was positive. I wasn't on prometrium then, but it sounds like your doctor's office still sees you being pregnant as a possibility. It's not always a completely exact science, and you never know when those little nuts are going to implant and start throwing out the HCG! Good thoughts for you and keep us posted!

jonelle - March 5th, 2007 9:55 PM

Good evening Chantal and everyone: So here is the breakdown. I did speak to my ob/gyn today and he said to stop the prometrium and my period should arrive in 3-5 days if I am not pregnant. If I don't get it within that time frame re-test and see what happens. Well...I started my period tonight...very lightly but none the less it is here. So. unfortunately it didn't work this month but on the upside there is plenty of fun to have again next month! So good luck to all of you...keep me posted and I will be chatting again very soon with new updates and hopefully better news next month! Thank you again for listening and giving great advice...I can use it all!

Chantal - March 6th, 2007 4:40 PM

Hi Jonelle; I'm happy to hear that you are still so positive; Big hug to you my friend. You started your period very fast after stoping the prometrium...WOW...I usually take about 5 days or so before starting. I'm doing my test tomorrow morning before leaving for work and I've already scheduled to have my blood taken tomorrow at 5:00pm regardless of negative or positive results...they don't want me to chance being off of the prometrium at all; so if my beta is nil THEN I'll be able to stop the prometrium. I'm hoping I'll just have to continue taking it! I'll post back tomorrow with the news. Crossing my fingers and praying BIG time.

jonelle - March 6th, 2007 8:48 PM

Chantal...I am really excited for you! Fingers are crossed and I can't wait to hear the results. I on the other hand am having the worst period ever! This is my first time as you know doing the prometrium like this and HOLY COW! Can you say extremely heavy! I haven't bled like this since I delivered my little man...and cramps is an understatement. Will the prometrium do that with your period? I was wondering if yours are worse during the whole regimen. I guess too that my period did come quicker than I expected...considering what everyone has told me about their personal experiences. So I am back to the drawing board and have already marked down that I have to start the little yellow pill again on the 22nd. So I am really looking forward to it! I am over my crying, picked myself up and am moving on. I guess though what really put me over the edge the other day after I tested negative was when I was in the grocery store and turned the corner and saw 2 identical twin boys that were no older than 2 months! Can you say crying moment! But like I said...I went through my box of tissues and am ready to get back on the train...ha ha ha! I can't wait to hear from you...you are in my thoughts...GOOD LUCK!

Chantal - March 7th, 2007 9:18 AM

Hi Jonelle: my turn....test was also negative; I'll still have my blood taken JUST incase I havent' counted properly and I've discontinued the bullets for now. I've been really quiet this morning and my husband is really being sympathetic. He even called me on my cell phone on my way to work to tell me how proud he is of me going through all the body changes and mood swings and of course that he loves me very much. My train ride was a grocery store moment...this young 16 year old girl was in no position to have a young baby; sorry but you could see she was struggling and it looked self inflicted. My heart was torn to pieces wondering why it is that these girls can get pregnant so easily and these children are being born with MAJOR disabilities!!! Sorry going through ANGER; then probably sadness and then I'll be fine and want to start all over like you Jonelle! At least our dates are close together again? It feels good to have support from everyone here. I think I will do the deed, EVERY SECOND DAY method this month and continue straight through the prometrium until the very last day!!! darnit. My periods are usually very heavy also...just think; it's cleaning itself out really good so things will STICK and HAPPEN next time! *HUGS*

minkey - March 7th, 2007 12:48 PM

Chantal and Jonelle: THINKING OF YOU BOTH! You're both incredibly strong women and you're going to get through this. Sounds like you both have lots of love and support around you, especially on this forum. Take good care of your hearts and go do something special for yourselves -- get a sassy new pair of shoes, or take a walk in the fresh air, or just have a good long cry. Sending good wishes for next month.

Chantal - March 7th, 2007 4:11 PM

Hi Minkey; so nice of you to send us such warm regards! You made me smile. How far along are you now? And how have you been feeling?

minkey - March 7th, 2007 4:18 PM

Hi Chantal: six weeks until the due date (April 20)! Feeling pretty good although sleeping is becoming a challenge -- the little guy will literally kick me until I move if I'm lying too much on my side and trapping his little feet beneath me. Am trying not to worry about whether the Prometrium will have any ill effects on him, but admit that it's hard not to worry about that. Thanks for asking!
