Purpose Of Placenta

Hi

Please could you explain to me what the purpose / use is of the placenta.

The placenta is a "bag" that carries nutrients from the mother to the unborn baby. It is like the middle man of nutrition for the fetus, without it, the baby could not get proper nutrition.

Hi Megan--the purpose of the placenta is to pass onto the baby all the nutrients in your body the baby needs, food, and proper blood supply. Hope that helps.
