I am fairly young (21 years old), and I'm 32 weeks along. I was in great shape before I got preg. (about 125lbs. and muscular) but I HAVE GAINED SO MUCH WEIGHT!! Granted I have retained a lot of water (cause I don't like to drink it), but damn...I'm not sitting back eating donuts and pizza all day either. I am constantly climbing up and down our stairs in our apartment, I still go to work...and I eat fairly healthy. I AM 186lbs. according to my last visit last week! What?!?!? Freaks me slap out. To make matters worse...HI STRETCHMARKS! *vomit* Only on my sides and upper thighs. Is there any hope for me after the baby to get back to my bikini wearing self, or am I doomed? I'm definately gonna breast-feed the hell outta myself...for the baby of course, but also for the tightening of my abs, and butt! Someone please...will I ever be able to wear bikinis again?!

Yeah you'll be able to lose the weight... you just might have to work a little harder at it... as for the stretchmarks i dunno... i heard they fade with time though..

Thanks. Makes me feel better. Gosh, how do you even begin to lose 50 some pounds? Baffles me!

I have tons of stretch marks (I gained 48 pounds total); I did NO exercising whatsoever after my son was born, but I breastfed for over 3 months . . . I was back down to only 4 pounds more than prepregnancy weight by 10 weeks after having him; those last few were the hardest to get rid of, but once I got moving again, I lost the rest within the following 2.5 months. Stretch marks fade though; I can still see them (I had Ethan May 27th, 2004), but now they're going to come back anyway b/c I'm pg again with baby #2--I'm 10.5 weeks now . . . Anyway, the baby is well worth anything. And I'm sure you'll go back to wearing bikinis--it might take a little while for the marks to fade, but they will. Don't worry too much :o)

Well, I love to hear stories of how women lost so much baby weight due to breastfeeding. It really gives me the insentive to stick with it! I'm going to be on here every day for help with breastfeeding, I'm sure. I was really counting on my best friend to be here for me while I went through the first two weeks cause she breastfed through nine months! But she got married and moved to texas, so all I have are my single friends, my mom and MIL, and NO ONE who has breastfed! =( I'm gonna need some cheerleaders!

I was lucky; my Ethan was a natural latcher :o) I had to stop though b/c he turned out to be allergic to milk. And something in both the cow's milk and my milk was making him sick. But I would've kept doing it--it didn't hurt at all other than for a grand total of one day and that was only b/c the nurse was telling me wrong in the hospital!!
