My husband and I are curious to know if there are any sexual positions that are off limits. I am a RN but am certainly not a L&D RN, I remember something about doggiestyle being a no no because air can enter the vagina then move up into your uterus, then be absorbed into the AS then causing a air embolism. Is this still the accepted view, any position as long as air doesn't enter the vagina?

My husband and I were doing doggie style until I started bleeding really bad afterwards. It turned out to be a burst vain but we were told not to do it anymore because the penetration is deeper than missionary. (It was really embarrassing) But I also heard about the air thing happening no matter what position. I think you just need to take extra precautions no matter what.

Yes in any position that can happen but usually the air that enters the vagina during intercourse is higher in doggie position. I mean we have all had those embarrasing uncontrollable "pussy farts" (pardon me for being so crude), and I find i only have those when having sex in the doggie position! So should I still do it?

I don't think position determines how much air enters your vagina. It's still the same penetration you would experience in the "safe" missionary position. All i've ever heard on the subject is to NOT allow your partner to blow into your vagina when givng you oral sex, as it could lead to an embolism. :o)
