I am getting pretty huge, and am not so into grooming "there" right now - but I hate hair! I really want to go and get a brazillion bikini wax, and I was just wondering if any of you have, or if there is any reason why you shouldn't. If there are any of you that do get waxed, does the place that you go to mind that you're pregnant? I know it's a dumb thing to ask about....pubic hair is just a personal phobia of mine.

LOL Alice. I don't really know the answer to your question, but I just want to say that I totally agree with you. That stuff has to go!! I hate it, too. I've never had one of those waxes, but if you do it, let us know how it goes. It hurts me bad enough getting my eyebrows waxed! LOL So I'm not sure I could handle getting the kitty waxed.

Tess - November 29th, 2005 4:25 PM

I still get my eyebrows wax but I haven't done the "thing" down there. I would be too scared to do it.

Stephanie - November 29th, 2005 4:28 PM

I just got my brows done the other day, but have yet to get the nerve to get a bikini wax. I don't want to know what it looks like down there right now.

My doctor advised that a wax is fine, but you may want to make sure you apply a topical numbing cream as your skin can be alot more sensitive when pregnant and it can hurt alot more than usual

I don';t like pubic hair either, but I guess I figure if you can't see it why worry about it? It's not like you are going to be able to see your area down there, so advise not to put yourself through the trauma while pregnant, why bother?

lol...i had one done before i was pregnant, and HATED it...i felt like the lady was going to rip my vagina right off lol...but when i was pregnant, i had just a regular bikini wax done, and it was much better than the first time, and the lady used only beeswax instead of the hard wax that the first lady used. so IF you are going to go and get this done, here is my advice to you. ONE...do what brandi said, and use some type of a numbing cream to ease the pain...or take a tylenol or two a half hour before you go. TWO, have the lady ONLY USE BEESWAX...hard wax is SOOOO stressful, and you will be absolutly miserable, and THREE...ask if they can put a warm washcloth with lavender on your forehead, to keep you somewhat calm, if the pain is too unbearable...and also, if you are so uncomfortable that you cant stand it, dont be afraid to tell them to stop. good luck, and i hope that all works out for you, let us know for sure though how it goes. GOOD LUCK :o)!

I was thinking about getting one too but I think I'll wait since my skin is so sensitive.

I had a regular bikini wax for the first time while pregnant (about 8 month). It really wasn't that bad. I got nuasous (sp?) because they had me flat on my back and the room was hot. I had to have her stop and cool down. Also, when she would pluck the remainders, that hurt a lot, so I told her not to. The wax itself wasn't bad.

I would also like to go get the whole thing waxed. However, I am curious, if you had a hemmrhoid, would you absolutely know you had one? My greatest fear is going to get waxed, and the lady seeing one, and freaking out.

Lacy - December 1st, 2005 3:33 PM

haha, leslie I bet if it is noticeable to the eye, you would be able to feel it when you reach down there...I could be wrong..Im only four months and havent had them yet. Fingers are crossed!

It is safe to get a brazilian when you are pregnant. I get them all the time and I am 14 weeks pregnant. They say it might hurt a little more if you get one for the first time and you are pregnant. I recommend going to a day spa who specializes in waxing because they have all kinds of products to help reduce the pain. Have fun...trust me you won't regret it!

Hi there- I too get waxed. Love the look- while I can see it ha ha, and the only thing I noticed is the area is more sensitive. I too have a hair thing- I like it clean and tidy- and well gone.
Best of luck.

I usually get mine done all the time too but have stopped going since finding out i was preggo due to stories about it hurting so much worse. I decided to bite the bullet and went this morning anyway and it was fine. I would say it was a tiny bit painful but think about it, it cant be anything compared to the pain of child birth!!! it really wasnt bad! i am 6 months pregnant so maybe it was also the pain of not having it done for so long. i thought the first time hurt worse than the rest so thats an explanation....... my advice, if you normally get it done and dont think it hurts go for your life and keep getting it done, as i said it didnt hurt bad at all!

Liana - December 14th, 2005 5:09 AM

I put the bikini waxing on hold since I found out I was pregnant. I'm sad because I can't stand all that hair down there. I'm trying to get hubby to at least trim it for me. I had one 3 days before AF and it hurt like a mother. I swore I would never do it again at that time, so I'm not even going to try while pregnant. Plus, I save money. Those things are expensive.

linda - December 14th, 2005 2:47 PM

I just got waxed and its TOUGH! especially the first time or so................

Dori - December 14th, 2005 4:24 PM

OK so I give ALL of you ladies credit for getting it all taken off. I had a bikini wax done 2 days before my wedding so things would be nice and clean for the honeymoon (we went to Aruba). Well I just want to say IT HURT LIKE A MOTHER YOU KNOW WHAT! Oh my god. And that was just a bikini. I just couldn't imagine having hot wax put between the "lips" and then yanked. OUCH!!!!
And with things being so much more sensitive, I couldn't imagine doing it again to be honest with you. I'm only 8 weeks pregnant right now and when the time comes, I will have my husband take a electrice razor and trim in down there so it isn't so "poofy". Ladies god bless all of you who have waxed because you are my hero's. For the time being I'll stick with the eye brows, lol!!!!
