Birth Control/ Spotting

i have been on birth control for two and recently on august 22nd had to stop taking my pill for medical reasons. I bled for a few days after stopping the pill. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex the past month around the time of ovulation both before and after even though i do not know my exact time. After 28 days i took a pregnancy test that was negative, again at 35 days a pregnancy test was negative. Now on day 38 i woke up too bleeding. Could it be spotting? Or hopefully my period? I'm a brand new preschool teacher and we are not looking to have a baby right now. Thanks for any help!
