I am 25 weeks pregnant and just had an ultrasound done with a high risk ob that confirmed that there is a cyst on my babies umbilical cord. Everything else looks great and all her measurements are right on track. He wants to do a follow up in 4 weeks to check her growth considering the cyst found can sometimes slow down the growth of the fetus. He also wants to talk about doing an amniocentesis then to check for any abnormalities that sometimes are associated with an umbilical cyst. Has anyone had this with any of the pregnancies or have any information on it? i dont seem to be finding too much on the internet. Also has anyone had an amniocentesis done and can explain the procedure to me....discomfort etc... any information is highly appreciated.
