you're right, A. Don't know why this country is so set on differentiating between black and white. Why aren't asian and hispanic for instance set apart from whites? Why is it other races seem to be like "no big deal" but STILL after years and years of debating and liberation are blacks still thought of differently. I swear, it's disgusting.

Update regarding the website above: The link is really long, and this website formats with a hyphen when the line runs longer than their allotted space. However, there is no hyphen in the website address.

My daughter is beautiful. She's 5 months and gorgeous. I'm black and her father is half Puerto Rican and Cuban and he's dark as well.
Our daughter came out brown skinned with soft curly hair and hazel eyes from his side of the family. Trust me you will have a beautiful baby.

im mixed i came out with light skin

Chey - May 26th, 2005 7:11 PM

i'm mixed. my mom is native american and my dad is full black (brown skinnded) and i'm light skinnded with some what kinky hair and some curls. however my older sister is also light skinnded with kinky hair she took after our dad side of tha family. sometime people mistaken me for hispanic. trust me when your baby gets much older people will be like what you mixed with or are you spanish. i'm 15 and i have a 3 month old daughter her dad is black. she came out light skinnded with my kind of hair. but you can tell she has black in her. she so beautiful. and i'm not trying to be rascist or nething. if you have a mixed baby and your white or hispanic or any other race then black. when your baby gets older after you wash there hair you cant just up in leave. like white people and hispanic people. yal just wash their hair and out they go. and when you have a mixe baby that is half black and they come out with kinky hair you wont know what to do with it.but from my expierence and what ive seen i have a couple of mixed cousins. and there hair is like mine and my sister. after you wash it you have to blow dry it until its completley dry then starighten it out. and it takes time sometimes. but your baby will most likley be cute. but not all mixed babies are cute.

im fair skinned with blue eyes and blonde hair. My husband is black with brown curly hair, we have a wonderful baby boy who is light skinned a caramel color and has blonde fine curly hair and blue eyes. He is a beautiful baby boy, I am pregnant again and can't wait to see what the next one turns out to look like! congrats Kris

As someone who has been in many biology classes, it is probably most likely that your baby will have brown eyes. If your husband has no one in his family with different colored eyes than brown, then your baby will almost definitely get a dominant gene for brown eyes from him, and your recessive trait will not be able to manifest itself. I am sure you will have a beautiful child no matter what!

My baby is mixed. I am white with greenish blue eyes and my hubby is black with black tight curls and light brown eyes. Our baby has fine curls and greenish brown eyes. He is so adorable! I am know pregnant with twins and can't wait to see how they turn out! Kris your baby will be beautiful no matter if it is a girl or a boy, good luck and congrats!

A couple of years ago i had a bestfriend who was bi-racial.. she was so beautiful.. But she had a sis ter who was ALOT younger than her. and her sister had light tan skin and green eyes but the cutest part was that she had blonde hair but it was "african american textured" so it would go into an afro and her mom would fix it so cute..i had never seen a sweeter looking child..

You never know how they'll turn out. My mother is chinese, irish, indian and black from jamaica and my father is puerto rican, irish and black also from jamaica. My mother is fair skin and my father is dark skin. My older brother came out fair skin like my mother with light brown curly hair that turned to black around the age of eight. My second oldest brother came out very light with a harder texture hair and light brown eyes. And I came out very light with very thick long hair. And I was the only one in the family who came out with chinese eyes. And although I have gotten darker over the years, I am almost 18 and am now mixture of light and brown skin. Everyone tells my parents they have beautiful children. So you never know. My cousin who is also mixed is going to be 20 and she is fair skin with jet black hair that reaches her butt and her body is of a black person. She is pretty. So you never know.

I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy 6 weeks ago, i am White Australian and my husband is Black African. The baby was born very white but has progressivly gotten darker over the weeks, i have heard that you can get a rough indication of their colour by the colouring right under their fingernails which is quite alot darker than the rest of him. I knew he would be more inclined to be like my husband, however, at the momment he has the softest, straight black hair like mine that appears to have no intention of curling but we'll see how it works out. Reagrdless, colouring of all babies takes a few months till they loose the reddish and chubbyness from birth. Good Luck
