My skin is very dry and itchy too right now. They said in your second trimester is when you get the glow. I'm only on 10.5 weeks so we'll see! By that time we'll actually have warm weather here so I plan to get some rays so I don't look like this pasty dead ghost running around.

hey melanie - i've heard the "glow" routine before as well - i had a stint of dry skin, and now, what seems to be a "glow" is a actually grease, that's right, grease... too hot!

The first fews weeks i had extremely dry skin to point where the skin on my face was peeling. I imagine alot of it had to do with the temp changes from indoor to outdoor and the dry air from heating the house.. Now that i am about 15 weeks and its nicer out things have settled but I still dont feel like i have a pregnancy glow that ppl refer too.. instead I have been getting pimples.. i also was reading in a few books to avoid the sun because it causes the 'mask' of pregnancy to appear darker on women with fairer skin. And what of this 'grease'? I thought the "glow" women got was caused by the increased blood circulation which made the skin look flushed.. I know your skin can get more oily and cause pimples because of hormones.. but that just sounds wierd.

I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks, now I'm 21 weeks and I have had dry patches on both sides of my chin the entire time. It's bad, but it's not the end of the world.
