She had the following test done in a town hundreds of miles from here and I want to know if something is being hidden from me because she is very secretive with me:

A Beta HCG Quantitative
A Comp Metabolic Panel (AMA)
A Phlebotomy Fee
A CBC with Differential (total laboratory)
Class II Emergency Room Visit
And Hydrocodone Administration

Hi Dustin - July 9th, 2005 10:29 AM

Sounds like they drew some blood and ran some tests. A pregnancy test was included and testing for STDs. The latter is standard procedure. Google it all for more complete info.

She had her blood sugar levels tested, and liver enzymes. Pregnancy tests are S.O.P. for a lot of different issues, but probably not worthy of being the primary reason for a visit to the E.R. She may be pregnant, but I doubt that's why she went to the hospital.

Isn't hydrocodone vicodin? I don't think they would give that to a pregnant woman.

Beth - July 11th, 2005 11:21 PM

They gave her the hydrocodone for pain. (Maggie is right, it's vicodin). She must not have felt good, and maybe she had pelvic pain. The ER checked her for pregnancy probably for that reason. I don't know why they do a CBC, other than to test for an infection or something.

no pregnancy test was given there...Hydrocodone would NOT be given to someone who was pregnant.

Tulip - July 16th, 2005 12:13 PM

I think she probably had pain and thought it might be pregnancy or an STD. HCG is the pregnancy hormone.
Maybe the hydrocodone was given after they ruled out pregnancy? Did she tell you she's pregnant? Did she give you this info or did you come across it some other way?

For the record, Hydrocodone IS sometimes given to pregnant women for pain. If you had your tooth pulled, that is what they would give you, if you had a can fall on your toe, and it was broke, that is what they would give you. Hydrocodone doesn't cause birth defects, but if you were to stay on it for a while, and the baby was born, then your baby could be addicted to it. Some pregnant women get this prescribed for headaches during pregnancy that don't respond to regular tylenol. Just thought I would add that.

It sounds fishy to me man, i dont know why she would try and hide it from you if she didnt have something to keep from you. Have you asked her strait out if she has something to hide from you? is she a very private person or keeps alot of secrets from you? if not then you know something is up, my guess would be she might have slept with another guy who possibly had an STD. it doesnt make any sence to me that she would hide it from you if it wasnt something sinister or life threatning. watch your back man, thats all im saying.

Hydrocodone is vicodin and it was prescribed to me my whole pregnancy for severy migranes and backaches. My baby is doing great... even better than great. She is extremely smart and very advanced.
