Well if she's already quit cold turkey then the marijuana should be out of her system, at least within 30 days or so from quitting, so they would not be able to take the baby from her if she doesn't have the drug in her system. I don't think you come into play as much because your obviously not carrying the child to term. Also, I don't think they normally test for drugs in the mother or child’s system unless they suspect that she's a drug abuser. Has she informed her doctor of her prior marijuana use? Who told you about the possibility of your daughter being taken away from you? |

I was first told that our baby could be taken away by her sister who has two kids and then a couple of threads on this web site she has always told doctors that she used marijuana just as a precaution when we started seeing this doctor for the pregnancy, she told her that she was quitting, she never said anything about the extent of use. I also read yesterday that all the hospital does is file a report with (CPS), and if they deem it worthy of investigation they will look into it. I have been so excited about our baby, I don't know what I would do. I read an article somewhere that said a mild smoker can pass a drug test after 30 days, but that if you add years of use your body stores more (thc) and can take up to 90 or more days. I have never felt so low in my life. and it's not that i think marijuana use is wrong. I believe it is a miracle medicine if used for the right reason I realy hope I am getting all flusterd for nothing. Thanks for the positive feed back, I was kind nervous about posting anything because i already made myself feel so low, and some people can be so mean. people come here for help already. thanks again. |

You should read the posting "he won't quit marijuana". There are many interesting comments in there. |

i agree that marijauna has some great benefits. for people going thru chemo, i know if helps tremedously with the nauseua. i know it helps with pain with some cancers too. i believe that it should be legalized. i belileve that it is far less harmful than alcohol. actually the only reason why i dont smoke it is because it is illegal. other than the fact that it is illegal my real concern would be the effects that it has on the baby. it is proven that smoking one joint has as much tar in it as 20 cigerettes. i would be so scared with taking that risk because of how delicate the unborn childs lungs are. but that is me. to put your heart at ease, i had a friend who smoked every single day up to the day she gave birth. the baby was completely healthy. they hospital never said a single word to her about anything being in the baby's system. i tink that unless someone gave the hosptal a tip, the wont test for anythinkg |
