Sign Rights Over?

i was just wondering if a guy needs permission from his kids mother to sign his rights over or can he just do it? i always thought you could just do it but someone told me you needed permission from her. also, how do you go about doing it? thanks

You can't just sign your rights over without her permission... if that was the case... there'd be soo many less cases in child support court!

Not only do you need permission from her, but in most states you have to have another party besides her willing to adopt the baby or child and take over the roll that you will be laying aside. Why would you WANT to sign over rights?? Do you not love your kids??
