Hello ladies, my dd just turned 8 months old and in the last 7-10 days, it's been a real struggle to try to give her formula. 3 weeks ago, she was drinking 5 times a day, 8oz. She started to not finish her bottles so I went down to 4 times a day 8oz. Then I went down to 7oz a feed. Now, it's a real fight every time! I take breaks, like 10 minutes, try it again... it can take me an hour for every feed! She is eating well, like 4-5 tbsp of cereal twice a day, 2-3 tbsp of fruit 3 times a day, 2-3 tbsp of vegetables twice a day and 3-4 tbsp of meat once a day. I just don't know what to do anymore... I mean, I just want her to be healthy! She has been teething, but the formula rejection doesn't seem to be related to any pain. And I've tried everything: warm formula, cold, room-temperature. Can anyone give me some advice???? I'm growing impatient and discouraged!

I wonder with all the 'yummy' food if she thinks the taste of the formula is yuck now. I know I wouldn't want to have it! I did put my son on cow's milk at like 9 months I think. I don't really know what else to tell ya.

Maybe try putting the formula in a sippy cup instead of a bottle, or maybe the bottle nipple flow is too slow for her at this age & she may be getting frustrated, perhaps try a nipple with a faster flow?

Thanks ladies! I think you are both right actually. She was still on #1 nipples so I switched her to #2 now. It went better; she drank 5oz instead of the 2-3oz she was drinking in the last few weeks. Also, she was still gaining a lot of weight (aoubt 6oz a week, while the normal weight gain is about 3-4 a week at this age), so perhaps it's also her way to slow down and her system is just where it should be (she was in the 20-30th percentil until 6 months and at the last appointment at 8 months was in the 50th). And it's not to say but I'm growing tired of throwing away formula! I mean, that stuff is real expensive! The pedi did talk about milk products at 9 months but said only cheese and yoghurt to start with and milk at 10 months...
