I do pancakes, yogurt, bananas, toast, grain cereal bars, cheerios, french toast sticks (on occation). We do grilled cheese, quesadillas, pizza, spagetti/any pasta for dinner too.

We do grits, eggs, oatmeal, toast, crackers, yogurt, blended chicken salad... my Anne is 9 mos and still doesn't have teeth, so our options are quasi-limited.

Max isn't eating as good as Renea's lo is yet, but he really likes quaker instant oatmeal made in the microwave, then I stir in a single serve cup of natural apple sauce, a few scoops of formula powder, a little brown sugar and cinnamin. It makes about 10 oz so I get 2-3 breakfasts out of it for him. I also do potato buds instant mashed potatoes. Since they just come in a box with a pour spout I can make as little or as much as I want. I stir in cheese sometimes to up the fat/protein content. I also boiled some egg noodles until mushy then mashed them up with a little butter, some parmesean cheese and a spoonful of cream cheese. Tasted just like fetticini alfredo! :) I also occasionally hard boil eggs. I mash up the yolks for Max and dice up the whites for a salad for us. Max loves the Dannon Activia yogurt. The yobaby stuff had way to much milk fat for Max and gave him diarrhea. But the Activia is only 2% milk so he still gets some fat, but its easier on his tummy to digest.

i just tried some dannon kids yogurt it has way less sugar and no artificial sugar so we will see how that goes. i will watch for bad poo poo. my son just got his two bottom teeth and his top one is half way out. good idea on the grilled cheese and quesadillas. thanks for all the suggestions. i also just bought some oatmeal too.

My dd is also 9 months old, and only has 2 teeth, she eats everything so well, and loves food, but I worry about choking. How many teeth do you think she should have before I try things like mac n cheese and grilled cheese?? I really feel like she wants more big people food!

reachbree - May 21st, 2007 6:54 PM

Considering that my ds is only 8 1/2 months old, and besides the baby foods stage 3 I also give him his formula, dry cherrios (no milk), yobaby Yogurt, and thats all he pretty much eats for now, as soon as he turns 9, I plan to start him on mild cheese and cottage cheese. His Dr gave a chart that shows when he should have what foods, and is strongly against any sugary, processed foods. I dont plan to give him any table foods (what we eat) until he is a yr or so and even that will be very limited.

my little each mac and cheese and only has two teeth, i am going to try the grilled cheese. well i tried the yogurt yesterday and today my son has bad poop and the worse diaper rash i have ever seen, he hasn't never had it before beside a little red, i think the yogurt did it to him, he won't even let me wipe his bum. poor guy. i am going to post a question is there is anything i can fo rthe diaper rash besides cream and airing it out

Ohhh my goodness, im so sorry that happened, that sounds awful for the little guy. Thats why I hate it when my MIL gives my ds new foods without our permission, you never know what they are going to have an allergic reaction! When Charlie gets diaper rashes I just put corn starch on the area, and sometimes I go the opposite way and put vaseline on it. Either one worked excellent with ds. Cornstarch keeps it air dry and vaseline keeps the wet/pee off and provides a coating. Since the weather is warm I would suggest cornstarch.

ethan will be 10 months tomarrow and he still is on breastmilk and baby food. In the mornings I mix gerber baby oatmeal and mix it with fruit, for lunch and dinner I mix gerber rice cereal with a veggie. For snacks I give him some small pieces of fresh strawberries, watermelon, or whatever fruit he doesn't have to chew. I give him crackers and biter biscuits to munch on as well. We eat dinner at 7 or 8pm usually.
