My son is 18 pounds and 7 months old and his car seat is still facing the rear of the car. When is a good age and / or weight to turn the car seat around to face the front - and also, when is a good age and / or wiehg to switch car seats - thanks !!

1 year old is the minimum age limit for rear facing, however a lot of convertible car seats hold up to 35 lbs rear facing since it's safe, so you can keep them rear facing longer if you want. My baby is 8 months old and he probably weighs 20-22 lbs and we just got a convertible car seat because he outgrew his infant carrier. He was way too heavy carrying it around and we could barely buckle him, plus his feet hung off the edge. I think the weight limit may be different for each car seat, but ours is 22 lbs, but we just judged it by when he looked too big for it, and he fits great in his new seat and is much more comfortable.
