Are chapped cheeks associated with teething?? or is it from being outside? yesterday it was 39 degrees in the early afternoon and my gramma made me bundle him up and go for a walk with her...the onthing really exposed was his litle face, but its only his cheeks that are chapped...they have been red form teething and its the same spot so im jsut wondering if its teething and what can i do aboiut it??

The chapped cheeks are probably a result of a bit of wind burn from being outside. I think teething just causes rosy cheeks, not so much chapped. My daughter gets chapped cheeks from being outside too. I use Nivea cream on her cheeks before we go out, and again before bedtime. It is a good one to use because it's pretty thick and really protects her little face.

I would say from being outside--I never heard teething causing your cheeks to turn red. My ds used to get chapped cheeks all the time when he was a baby. I put a little vasoline on his cheeks when we would go outside and it really seemed to work!!!

Teething can cause their cheeks to turn red - it did for both of my kids. But the "chapped" description - probably not teething. Are they sort of dry and scaly? That's more what I would describe as chapped. My kids get that too, and Aquaphor works wonders!

my dd had really bad chapped cheeks... i just used the normal johnson's and johnson's baby lotion (in the pink bottle) that worked wonders!

I use Johnson's Soothing Naturals Soothe & Protect Balm on dd's cheeks it is great and is only $4.

Vaseline is good for chapped cheeks too, especially as a barrier when you go out to prevent it. It's kind of thick and greasy so I wouldn't use it if you're going out in public, but it's great otherwise.....and cheap, too.

vaseline ! vaseline ! vaseline ! Its really cheap, and a little bit goes a long way. You apply it once in the morning and you should not have to do it the rest of the day !
