My 5 week old little bundle of joy does an awful lot of crying. She even started off a mutiny at the new mother's group I've joined. How do other parents settle their precious ones?

My baby cried a lot too. I found that swaddling him and and rocking him holding him close to my face and making a constant shhhh sound calmed him down. It sounds crazy but it works. I actually saw it on TV. Good luck. :0)

Could be gas. Try some mylicon drops.

From what I hear, crying peaks at 6-8 weeks of age and is normal. Swaddling works very well...babies have different temperaments and they all thrive emotionally/socially in their own ways...

I agree with the ladies. Swaddling and gas drops. Gas drops works very well. Gas can make a baby cry for hours. So try it. It works....Good Luck

On the advice of my M-I-L, I actually gave her a top-up with formula and now she's settling really well. Guess my boobs aren't working quite hard enough...
