Ok ladies, here is my problem... DD just turned 8 months old and it seems like her diapers are not holding her pee at night at all. Even through the day if she pees in them more then twice they are soaked! I am currently using Pampers cruisers and they are not working! I have had to put her in bed with me the last couple of nights due to soaked bed and clothes. What diaper are you ladies using? Are they working? Also dd is 18 + lbs. She hasn't gained any weight since she was 4 months but that is another problem I am facing. Thank you all for any input that you may have!!!

Hi wv, ds also just turned 8 months and I use huggies for him. He pees ALOT!!!! We used to use the pampers cruisers or the pampers baby dry, and they both leaked. He started sleeping through the night around 6 months and ever since then he hasn't really leaked. When he was still feeding at night though, it seemed like he leaked through every diaper. He is almost 23 lbs now and the 3's were getting snug and leaked a few times, so we switched over to the 4's and they work great, they just give you less for your money grrrr. Also about the weight thing, try not to worry too much about that, I just learned that an 8 month old should weigh between 14.5 and 17.5 lbs, and if they are above that, then it is perfectly normal for them not to gain for a bit. I'm on the other end of the spectrum, and I am worried that my ds has been gianing gaining gaining and I see no signs of it slowing down.I'm afraid he's going to be a 100 lbs 2 year old.

Hi, my dd went through the same thing when she was 6 months old. Like Gabby, I switched to Huggies and have not had one leak since. When I used Pampers it was awful, I'd come get her in the morning and find her sleeping in a puddle of urine. Also, Huggies has a special over night diaper you might want to try out. I haven't used them before but my sister (who has a 16 month old) has been using them since her DS was 8 months. Huggies holds in leaks really well, but one warning is that if the diaper is really full, change it right away before she can sit up. If she sits up and puts pressure on her diaper it'll be like pressing on a wet sponge and all the pee will come out the sides. The only downside I have toward Huggies is that they aren't as soft as Pampers. I think they have Huggies Gentle Fit but I've never used them before. My sister uses Pampers in the day and Huggies by night, so you can try that if you really prefer Pampers. Hope that helped!

Thank you ladies! Yeah dd sleeps through the night but has been waking up cause she is soaked! I just bought a box of size 4's thinking that would fix the problem so my diaper budget is blown but I have a pack of 3's that were given to me from Costco so I hope those work. They have been sitting in her closet forever so I hope those work for now... I really dont wanna hear dh complain because I have to spend more money on stuff, lol.

Thanks for letting me know about the weight thing :) It just worried me because she has always been bigger. Now she is shooting up like a weed so I guess it would make sense that she is slowing the weight gain down but not gaining anything for 4 months is kindof scary. I am afraid I was going to have to put her formula. Thank you all again!

Have you tried Diaper Doublers? We had to use them on Houdini (now 13) when he was little.

Hiya VW!! I use a size 2-3 pampers swaddlers on my dd now 6months old and love them through the day and use a size 3 Huggies on her at night. It seems to work well, and we havent had any leaks yet!!

wv_red - February 11th, 2009 9:13 AM

Hi ladies! Well dd has managed to pee through the Costco off brand huggies. Yeah she is def a peeer. We have gotten close but they held, but the night before and last night I am up changing her butt because she is soaked. Ok so where do you get those diaper doublers?? Or the overnight thingys? Thank you again!

Toys-r-us and Babies-r-us, possibly places like Safeway (that's where we used to get ours lol). They about $3-4 per pack of 30.

I forgot to add - there IS a right way and a wrong way to put them in. Run them down the middle of the diaper, just like you'd put a pantyliner in your undies, with the seam DOWN against the diaper and the smooth, one-layer side up against baby.

we use both pampers baby dry and luvs. the luvs seem to contain leaks much better, so that's what we use at night. so far only very occasional leaks at night. my mom used diaper doublers with me because i did all my peeing at night. i wish i could tell you where to get them, but we haven't had to use them yet. try DIAPERS.COM, they have almost everything you could need. plus, if you're a first-time user, enter the code FUNN8717 at checkout and you should get $10 off your order, plus free shipping if you spend $49. :)

i hate the pampers for that,if dd has a really wet diaper from the night, you go to change it in the night and all that stuffing stuff starts leaking out, then you have to sweep it alll up.

stefkay - March 27th, 2009 11:48 PM

Hey, I'm really starting to wonder if my dd is peeing enough?? She's NEVER had a leaky diaper and I've used pampers since she was born. Right now she is almost 9 months and she is I think around 17.5 lbs. She wears Pampers cruisers size 3. Even at night when she wears the same diaper all night long it never has leaked. I don't think she's dehydrated but I just don't know what is abnormal...
