Hi everyone! A while back there was a post asking for ideas for "table foods" for babies who've moved from the pureed stuff or jarred foods and I found it so helpful in making a grocery list for my soon to be 11 month old. I though maybe we could have a thread here where all of us can post things that we find our lo's like (or don't like), easy quick recipes, etc.! I find it hard to do a lot of slaving over a stove and want easy! Please please post any ideas here :)

I'll post some of the things my dd liked that I got from this site. Nutrigrain waffles with applesauce on top. She LOVES them! Small alphabet pasta mixed with traditional spaghetti sauce--I made a big batch and then froze it in ice cube trays. Fruit cups (I rinse the cut up fruit in a colander with water to get rid of the syrup), Cheerios, turkey lunch meat (I buy the natural kind with no preservatives), sometimes likes bits of cheese. Overall right now we are having issues because she started out liking most things I made and now she's going through a phase where she's not wanting to eat much at all. She used to love veggies and now it seems all she will eat is cheerios, crackers and pasta :(

My ds2 will be 12 months on the 31st May. For his meals he has 2-3 of these things: toast w/ jam, yogurt, babycereal/or oat cereal, pieces of banana, pieces of apple, pieces of strawberry, cheerios, sweet potatoe whole grain puffs, "Fruitsations" unsweetened fruit cup, french toast, blocks of cheese, fruit-flavored tofu, pieces of fried egg yolk (LOVES this!), cooked pieces of cauliflower/broccoli, soup (tomatoe/mushroom or broccoli) crackers, spaghetti with sauce, cooked carrot sticks, & for dinner he eats whatever we have which is pieces of meat (he LOVES meat!), rice/or mashed potatoe and some kind of veggie. My ds2 isn't a big fan of veggies either. I sneak them in by cutting them up fine and mixing them into his rice or mashed potatoe.

Oh he loves red & yellow peppers. I cut them into sticks and he goes at it. He will also eat cucumber cut into strips. And he looooves pineapple slices.

BTW he only has 2 teeth fully out at the moment, while his twop front teeth just recently broke through the gum surface. So, proof enough that a baby doesn't need teeth to eat table foods.

Levi only has 2 teeth poking through too - and he eats everything!

I have a great recipe for whole wheat waffles that you can make and freeze/store in the fridge. My kids LOVE them. I just started making them myself instead of buying the expensive ones at the store.
1cup whole wheat flour, 1tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/8tsp salt, 1/2 tsp cinnamon,2 TBSP honey or sugar, 1 cup buttermilk and 1 egg. I double the recipe since I have 2 kids. Just mix the dry, then add the wet, mix and cook. I have a griddle so I cook up a bunch of them once a week. I don't put syrup or butter or anything on them, they love them!

I also buy/make good chicken taquitos, chicken nuggets (whole wheat), quesadillas w/ cheese/chicken/avocado. Scrambled eggs, yogurt, sliced peaches/pears, banana.
Hamburger, pasta (whole grains), green beans....

I don't know, they eat whatever we do. :) I'll have to think about what I'm cooking him now - and post it.
