Hey ladies, ok so I have been weaning my daughter to whole milk. She is almost a year. The thing is this morning she woke up with one hell of a rash on her face!! I have given dd yogurt, cheese since she was 6 months with no reaction. Today is the first time she has had a reaction from milk and she has been getting sippy's of that for about a month now (just as a drink with meals). I don't even know if its from the milk? Now she has had a runny nose for about 2.5 wks and is on allegra for that but would that also be related? I guess all in all I am confused, and I really dont know what to do? How do I clear this up on her face? Does anyone have a suggestion as to what it may be?? Thanks!!!

Has she had a fever at all, or a few days ago? The only thing I can think of right now is Roseola. A virus that starts off with a fever which lasts 1-2 days and then a rash that follows anywhere from 3-7 days later. My ds1 had this when he was 13-14 months old. It is fairly common in kids under 3. IMO it's not related to the milk because she has been drinking it for a while. Is she acting sick at all?

Oh another thing...could it be a heat rash?

No fever and has just been cranky cause of allergies, nothing major. As for heat rash, I never thought about that. We do live in Texas and it got hot, 94, yesterday. But I always thought you got heat rash on your chest/back first. I didnt know you could get it on your face. I put a little bit of aveeno on her face to hopefully try to get it not looking as bad. Poor thing between the snot and the rash I feel horrible taking her out in public. I get this look that says "wow you shouldnt have her out." i dont care to much for those, lol.

Hey do you think it could be from slobber? She has been sleeping on her stomach and she is a serious drooler at night? Gee I wonder where she got that from ;-)

It could very well be slobber. Even babies who just drool alot get a rash on their chins from it. I think if she starts getting sick, or the rash doesn't go away or look any better after a few days then take her to the doc.

Thanks :) I didn't even think about that until I went to check on her and she had rolled over and face in the sheets. lol :) I am defiantly going to keep an eye on it. Thanks again!!! Oh and Happy Mother's Day!
