Is There Anything I Can Do To Help My 9 Month Old Crawl?

Try putting a mat down to make crawling a bit more comfortable for her. How I encouraged my daughter to crawl was crawling around myself. It sounds ridiculous and it's quite embarrassing if someone sees you, but they learn best when they are shown how to do it. I also put some toys in front of her to try to get her to crawl to them. Just keep encouraging her, she'll get it eventually. Also, keep in mind, that some babies just aren't crawlers. If she seems disinterested try not to force it. |

We did the crawling demo to teach my dd too and it worked. Yes, we looked pretty foolish, but it was worth it! |

I gave my ds lots of tummy time...as much as he could stand in one day. I also put toys out of reach especially adult things all babies like to gum on (eg. cell phone, remote). I would get on the floor with him, clapping, praising ect. It will come in time, and your dd may just go straight to walking. Each baby does things in their own time. Both my sons were crawling by 8-8.5 months, but ds1 only started pulling up at 10 months while ds2 started at 8 months. Each baby is different. On average babies start crawling between 8-10 months, so your dd still have time to fall into average. And even if she if a late bloomer it is perfectly fine. It doesn't mean she is slower or less smart than the baby that started crawling at 5 months old. Have fun with her during tummy time and try not to feel pressured or worried that she has to crawl at a certain time. |

I don'T mind going on all fours too! The problem I have is that as soon as I put dd on her belly, she pulls herself back in sitting position. Ugh! |
