Kimmer23 - December 31st, 2008 11:08 AM

Thanks austynsmommy. It's kinda funny seeing the titleJan 09 babies, since all of us that have our little ones are obviously Dec. 08 mommies. I'm doing well. Just trying to rest when he is resting. He hates his crib, so I'm trying to figure out where to ut him down to sleep at night. So far, he either sleeps with us in the bed (after he falls aleep after nursing) or he sleeps in his car seat. Any other suggestions or ways to help him sleep in his crib. Thanks girls. And, I hope everyone is doing well.

Well I took andrew for his two week check up and he now weighs 5 pounds and 10 ounces. His doctor is very happy with his weight gain. Kimmer23 my daughter was like that with sleep. How is nursing going? I really wanted to nurse. He just would not take to it. How are you feeling? I don't even feeling like I was pregnant. Have a great new year.

Hello Ladies! I can't believe we all had our babies early. Kimmer, you're probably best investing in a basinett, which you can keep with you in your room. Brady could end up using it for about 3 months. I'd be a bit nervous about sleeping with the baby in the bed (unless you have one of those co-sleeper things), because he's so little. Also, not to scare you, but there was a big news report out late last year or early this year, about babies sleeping in their infant carriers. Apparently, when not installed on the base, the baby's not in the proper position, and can stop breathing. It has to do with the fact that on the base, the carrier is reclined appropriately, but on its own, it's not. You can probably pick up a basinett for under $100 (or buy one second hand for even less. I hope this helps. Austynsmommy, I saw your other post under Postpartum. Are you feeling any better? Is there a way that your husband can get a few days off to give you a bit of a break? I can't imagine how exhausted you must be with 3 little ones at home! Either way, we're all here to listen if you need to vent.

I'm doing ok. I was having a hard time because I have no family here. I had to deliver alone because my husband had to stay with the kids and my family couldn't make it up here because we had a horrible snow storm that lasted for 3 weeks. We are hoping to have a summer baby next time. I have a bassinette for andrew and I love it. I keep it right next to the bed and he is a pretty good sleeper. I can't wait until he's awake more. Happy New Year's ladies.

Hey girls! Thanks for the advice. We actually have a cradle coming from my parents and we are getting a pack n play (with a bassinet), so hopefully Brady will sleep in one of those. :) We'll see. You did scare me a little...but it is probably a good thing that I know. Yeah, austynsmommy - I can't imagine how you are doing it with 3 little ones at home. I'm exhausted wth just little Brady. I'm feeling good though. I'm still sore, but other than that, I'm good. How are you all doing? Oh, and my new nephew is coming by c-sec today...my sis-in-law was actually ahead of me by 6 days, but since I delivered early, it's her time now.

austynsmommy - January 1st, 2009 1:40 PM

Wow Kimmer23. That's exciting new's about a new nephew. A little play mate for Brady. One of my good friends had her daugther on the 17th of december. One day before Andrew was born.

Kimmer23 - January 3rd, 2009 8:12 AM

Yeah, little Griffin was born on Thursday, so he is 5 days younger than Brady. That's exciting about your friend too austynsmommy. So, Brady doesn't like the cradle either. Have either of you tried the safe and sound sleeper or something like that? From what I've read, it seems like a bassinet that you can have in bed with you. We have plenty of room in our king size bed, so we were thinking about buying one of those...as of now he sleeps forever if he's cuddled with me, but other than that, he isn't happy. How is everyone feeling?

misscrotts - January 3rd, 2009 9:23 PM

How is everyone doing? Andrew is a little porker lol. He eats so much and is now getting some fat on his body. He still sleeps really good. Today was my actual due date. I am doing good. I'm just really tired. My hubby actually got up with him last night so I could sleep all night. Well have a great night ladies.

babeedust2all - January 7th, 2009 2:52 PM

Hey all! Makayla is now two weeks old, and weighs 6lbs.6oz., which is great because she weighed 5lbs2oz. when she left the hospital 1.5 weeks ago. She eats and sleeps well which has made the transition much smoother. My in-laws are staying with me this week to help me out (since I can't do much because of the C-section), and my mom is coming to help out next week which is great. How's everyone else doing?

austynsmommy - January 8th, 2009 11:07 AM

Hi ladies. How is everyone doing? Were good. Andrew is now 3 weeks old today. I'm feeling pretty good just really tired. Well I need to get off here and go feed andrew.

Kimmer23 - January 8th, 2009 8:19 PM

Hey girls! I'm doing well...just really tired. Brady had been sleeping pretty well, but he didn't sleep much last night. Maybe it's something I ate? He has his 2 week appt. at the doc tomorrow (he's two weeks on Sat). So, we'll see how much weight he's gained back...I hope he's at his birth weight by now. He was down 11 onces when we left the hospital. Oh, I did get that close and secure sleeper (co-sleeper thing), and it's great! He generally sleeps well in it. And, we'll hopefully be able to transition him in it to his crib in a few weeks-months. Take care!

austynsmommy - January 11th, 2009 10:47 PM

Hey ladies. Just checking to see how everything is going? Were doing pretty good. I'm just very tired. Andrew is sleeping really good and all. Talk to you ladies later.

Hi ladies. I just got back from taking Andrew in for a weight check and he is now 7 pounds and 5 ounces. The doctor was very happy about it. How is everyone else?

Kimmer23 - January 15th, 2009 1:07 PM

Hi girls! We are doing well :) Brady's due date is tomorrow, the 16th. I can't believe he is about 3 weeks old! austynsmommy - I'm feeling and doing well - I don't really feel like I had a baby either...I look like it though...that pregnancy pouch...hopefully I can get rid of it sooner rather than later. So, right now, I'm really hoping my little guy doesn't have colic...he was super fussy last night again for several hours... How is everyone else doing? I know more peoplew have had their little ones now...hope all is well :)

baby2jan13 - January 15th, 2009 4:23 PM

Hi ladies! It is so great to not be pregnant anymore!! Dominic is a week old yesterday and I don't feel like I've had a baby! I have bad back pan from the epidural but that;s it. Unfortnately, Dominic has his days and nights mixed up. No idea how to fix it! He also will not sleep unless he is being held. I barely get a break all day and night. I get 3 hrs a sleep in the morning only b/c my husband takes the baby for me. We got a sleep positioner and so far he has been napping in it for an hour! Maybe there is hope! I think he just doesn't like being flat on his back. I can't wait til he sleeps for 4 hours straight!
