Thought I'd start a new thread since it's January now. Our babies are 7 months alraedy, doesn't it seem like they were just born. Hope everyone had a nice Christmas and New Year!

Sprinkles - January 3rd, 2009 8:32 PM

Omg Gabby I KNOW ! I can't believe she is 7 months already .. and she is really doing new stuff almost everyday - today she actually got up on her knees and she moves back and forth like she wants to crawl but isnt sure how to move her arms without falling lol so she stays up on her knees then leaps forward lol so funny then she army crawls haha and she keeps doing it up on her knees .. i cant believe she will be crawling all over soon! She is steady getting those 2 lower teeth in .. and she is SO hungry lately she can't get it in her mouth fast enough lol .. well ok I am off to apply to my daily ritual of as many jobs i can find regardless of what it is lol

Sprinkles - January 3rd, 2009 8:33 PM

Oh gabby are you still breastfeeding? I am still bf'ing violet going to try and continue but she really slices my boob up with those teeth and i cant like put my finger in her mouth and say no when she does it as the books suggest cause she doesn't do it that way she will nurse then pull off real fast with her jaw still clenched lol .. killer

gabby509 - January 3rd, 2009 9:16 PM

Hey Dawnie!!! King did the same thing at first right before he actually crawled. He would rock back and forth on all fours and then leap forward and do a faceplant. He's getting the hang of crawling now but it's so hard because he have hardwood floors and no area rugs so he really only crawls at my moms house (she has wall to wall carpet). And yes I am still breastfeeding. I had to say very loudly NO in King's face when he bit me and he never did it again since then. But let me tell you that was PAINFUL!!! So he's been doing really well with the solids since we switched him off the rice cereal and went to oatmeal or barley. No more constipation. He poops like a grown man now though, and it's in every single diaper. And it smells so bad! Well I start my nanny job on Monday and I'm kinda dreading it. I went over there today for a few hours just to ge back into the swing of things and the baby cried the entire time. But as soon as her parents walked in the door she was all happy and smiley. It was like 3 hours from HELL! So now I'm thinking that she's gonna take a while to get warmed up to me and I really don't want to have to hear her scream for the next 2 weeks or so. I called my mom and asked her how long she thinks it will take for her to be ok with me and she said that baby girls are sort of bitches, haha, and they usually aren't as easy going as boys. She had 2 girls, and is now raising my sisters boy and girl so she can see the difference. So I guess I'll just have to go and bite the bullet and deal with it, we desperately need the money so I gotta do waht I gotta do. Dawnie, I wish you lived closer to me, we could both get jobs and share babysitting duties. I gotta go though, King is still awake and it's way past his bedtime. Oh and one more thing, what do you guys think about walkers, like teh kid that they sit in and run around in? I asked my doc and he said it was fine as long as we make sure our house is safe for it, but now I've been reading all these things saying that walkers are bad for babies and that it hinders their upper thigh muscles from developing. So I'm confused now.

Sprinkles - January 4th, 2009 11:14 AM

I know i wish we lived closer too! violet is a handful haha so maybe girls r harder to deal with ..she is good for othr people but she wants me 2 hold her all the time n she still gets up at night to eat like 3 times...does king? I don't know about the walker thing .. I never had one for chas and I likely won't for violet .. my house is too small she will be bouncing off everything LOL

gabby509 - January 4th, 2009 11:43 AM

King sleeps the entire night now. I put him to bed around 8 or 8:30 and he doesn't wake up until 8 or 8:30. But I start my new job tomorrow so I have to leave the house at 7, so he's gonna have to start getting up earlier. We basically just let him cry it out one night, he only cried for 45 mins and then slept through, then the next night he cried for 15 minutes and slept through and ever since then, he sleeps 12 hours straight. I think I paid my dues though, he woke up every 2 hours for the first 6 months, sometimes it was every hour.

Hi ladies! We are finally back and settled at home again after lots of holiday visits. The boys got spoiled rotten and I will have to store away some of the toys they don't play with anymore. Jaxon is weighing in at 20lbs 7oz and is 29.5in long. Big boy!! He is trying hard to crawl...pushes both knees up and lurches forward but still has to figure out how to raise his arms up at the same time. I think it may still be another month or more before he's crawling though. No teeth yet, but I see the white of them under the gum. He hasn't been as interested in food as he once was but I recall the same thing happening with Caden. We transitioned Caden into a toddler bed yesterday, and so far so good. I was a little worried it wouldn't work out but he seems to enjoy it. Yah! gabby: I have only read negative things about the walkers, and they are actually illegal here in Canada. Good luck with your new nanny job...I hope that little girl warms up to you because it will make it easier for both of you.Jaxon has been sleeping through (11-12hrs) for a while now...since he about about 4.5 months old. The sleep situation seems to be at its best right now. It is easy getting him to nap, and he is consistently napping 3 times a day now. Jaxon has started clapping and raising his arms when wanting to be picked up. They grow up so quick! I can't believe he is 7 months old either!

eastcoast - January 4th, 2009 6:43 PM

Does anyone feel like the babes are growing up way too fast? It seemed like forever that Kai couldn't do much of anything, and now, he's into everything! One of my good friends is starting back to work tomorrow, and she's dreading it....and honestly, when I think about going back to work, I feel a little sick to my stomach:( As horrible as it sounds, I don't like the thought of my baby spending his day with someone else:( Hopefully I'll get over it before I have to go back.
Hahaha, Gabby and Dawn, just wait until MORE teeth come in! I'm still bf'ing and Kai now has 8 chompers. I read somewhere that most babes have 8 by the end of their first year, so hopefully that's it for him for awhile. Even though he doesn't intentionally bite (only sometimes when he's really sleepy and not paying attention), does it ever hurt! He's got 4 teeth on top and 4 on the bottom and it feels like my boob is in a vice grip! Thankfully it doesn't happen very often or I'd probably have no nipple left;) I hope everyone had a great holiday, we just took our tree down today...I can't believe how fast it all went this year.

Sprinkles - January 4th, 2009 7:52 PM

omg pam I dont know if i can handle 8 LOL ! u know with violet I really think its a comfort thing ... the only reason I cave and give her the boob every time she wakes it because I convince myself she is hungry .. Her schedule is something like this she wakes up at 7am plays around in her crib for a bit til about 8 then I get up and BF her then I go downstairs and she plays in her jumperoo while I have breakfast then around 9 she has something like bananas and peaches with granola (she loves that) stage 2 and eats the whole thing then she naps around 10 for maybe 20-30 mins gets up I bf her again then around 1 she has a snack (apples or something) then around 3 or 4 I bf her again and she will nap for maybe 20-30 mins then she has dinner around 5 veggie n meat or just a vegetable then 7 is bath time 730 I bf her and off to bed she goes .. now like tonight she bf at 730 and barely drank she nurses then keeps looking around like she is distracted .. so she went to sleep now she will wake up at midnight to nurse then again at 4 or 5 am ... I cant bring myself to just let her cry .. I feel like she may be legitimately hungry cause when i pump the MOST i get is 3 oz total combined .. even if she gets more out she gets what 5 oz tops .. the doc said bf digests alot faster and it coudl be that she is hungry so that is why i feed her .. though sometimes she is really just very upset i can tell by how she cries and that is the only thing that soothes her .. bad habit i know but walking around and rocking her and really anything else doesnt work Every so often if i just hold her and walk to a dim light like the night light she stares at it and that calms her .. so i always try that first some nights it works then once she is calm i put her down and she goes back to sleep .. but she wakes up crying pretty hard then starts screaming and i cant just let her like that she only gets more and more upset .. typically around 5 she poops lol so I think sometimes that is what wakes her so i change her and nurse her .. does it sound like she should not nurse at night? I feel like if i do eventually switch to formula she may sleep better then .. or at least then I would believe it was just a habit. O and i got good news I interviewed for a job friday the ONLY job that called me to interview and it was for one position and they interviewed a few people but the man called me and told me i got it - seems him and the woman interviewing went back and forth alot but settled on me lol .. i think he was leary cause she called me to ask me about child care to make sure i would not have an issue with that cause its for a courier for medical stuff and they dont have a back up .. so if i dont show thats trouble for them. I reassured her i have PLENTY of childcare options as far as friends and family go locally but i think he was more concerned then she was .. honestly the ONLY reason I could see myself having a issue with this job is the whole driving in bad weather thing cause its all the way in the mountains I have to go in my own vehicle.. and i am transporting something that gives off radiation which isnt great either but i need to pay my mortgage .. he said in a month I am exposed to less radiation then a xray tech in a 40 hr work week though .. either way I am thrilled to have the job being as how my unemployment ran out and I am totally at 0 income wise.. ok well I am off to do dishes i rambled too much here lol

eastcoast - January 5th, 2009 10:21 AM

Dawn, hopefully Violet won't get all 8 teeth 'til closer to the 1 year mark;) Oh and congrats on the job, btw! Kai still wakes up once or twice a night to nurse and I'm ok with that. The public health nurse I spoke with said that because bm is digested more quickly than formula, that it's completely normal for bf'd babes to wake up once or twice a night up until they're a year old. Although I'm sure with Kai, it is also a comfort thing (like you mentioned), but then I think, what's so bad about being wanted and being able to comfort a little baby:) I don't think I could let him CIO either. Hopefully I won't have to find out. Just this past week he switched up his schedule, and it 's now something like this.....7am ish, 7:30 nurse, 8-8:30ish breakfast which is cereal, fruit and water in his sippy cup, 10am ish nurse, nap around 10:30ish for about an hour, lunch between 12-12:30 (usually veggies, meat, water in the sippy cup and an arrowroot cookie), 1pm nurse, 3pm ish nurse and nap for about an hour, 5pm ish nurse, 5:30ish supper (cereal, veggie and water in his sippy cup), 7pmish nurse and to bed, and then he wakes up 1-2x during the night to nurse....he still nurses a lot 7-8x/day! But he seems happy enough so I think I'll just continue feeding him on demand.

Sprinkles - January 5th, 2009 12:17 PM

yea your schedule sounds very familiar haha i basically do on demand too .. I haven't had to put her on a schedule yet i just kind of go with the flow.. but she tends to eat around the same times anyway. Well she is napping now so i am going to go wash some dishes lol ttyl!

gabby509 - January 5th, 2009 4:10 PM

Hey girls. Dawn and Eastcoast, I think that babies are so funny. Some work better with schedules and some work better without one. Like King's schedule is pretty much wake up at 8 and bf, then cruise around the house in his walker for a bit, then around 9 or 9:30 he eats breakfast 3 ounces of bm with oatmeal cereal and a stage 2 jar of fruit, then goes down for a nap between 10:30 and 11, I bf him befor ehe goes down, usually sleeps for 2 hours, then wakes up and eats lunch, 2 jars of baby food, 1 fruit 1 veg, then usually bf around 2. Then he cruises around (either crawling or in his walker or jumperoo, then takes another 2 hour nap at 4. Then wakes up and bf, then eats dinner around 6 or 6:30 3 ounces of bm mixed barley cereal, then 1 container of vegs. Then we hang out until 8 or 8:30, take a bath every other night and then bf, and bedtime is between 8:30 and 9. Then he sleeps through the night until 8 or 8:30 the next morning. My doctor told me that he is very big for his age and should not need to feed during the night, he has plenty of fat reserves, haha. When I weighed him the othe day he was 21 lbs 4 ounces, and 28 inches long. He still only has 2 teeth, but I swear I've been feeling those top ones come through for over a month now.

gabby509 - January 5th, 2009 4:12 PM

Oh and Congrats on the job Dawnie!!!!

DDT - January 5th, 2009 4:47 PM

Sprinkles: Congrats on the job. It sounds like it will work out for you. eastcoast: 8 teeth! Wow! My 22 month old has 12 teeth. Kai isn't that far behind him...lol. As far as schedules: My oldest needed a routine. He got so grumpy and miserable if I deviated from his routine. Jaxon on the other hand doesn't seem to be phased in the least if he misses one of his naps during the day. He is still smiley...maybe a little fussy but not the hysterical fussiness that I got from my ds1. Jaxon's routine goes something like this: 7-7:30am-Wake-up/Bottle (8oz); 8:30am-Nap (1.5-2hrs); 10:30am-Breakfast (cereal & fruit); 11:30am-Bottle (7oz); 12-12:30pm-Nap (1.5hrs); 3:30pm-Bottle (8oz); 4:30pm-Catnap (30-45mins); 5:30pm-Dinner (veggie & fruit); 6:30pm-Bottle (6oz); 6:45pm-Bath; 7:15pm-Bedtime. For playtime he moves from sitting on the floor, jumperoo, exersaucer, tummy time, Bumbo, my lap & arms. He enjoys watching his brother play and usually Caden will try to interact with him by offering toys ect. He kinda gets carted around from room to room as I clean up the house and do chores. I have to incoorporate lunch into Jaxon's routine now. But lately he just hasn't been interested in food. I thought I would wait until that phase had past. The meals he does eat now he doesn't even finish half of....just chomps his mouth shut and pulls away.

amanda17 - January 5th, 2009 8:24 PM

Ellie has no teeth and no sign of them... Should I be worried?

Sprinkles - January 5th, 2009 8:25 PM

Thank u girls! I got 3 calls for jobs today lol after I have one now they all call.. but schedule wise this is the one that works best so I will try it out and hope I dont pay more into fuel then I make lol so hopefully I can make enough to survive. DDT those are some nice naps I WISH i could get violet to nap for a hour and a half! I don't know why she stopped napping so long she just lasts maybe 20-30 mins tops now .. I was thinking of joining a gym once I have some money again .. the one gym has a childcare thing so i can put her in there while I work out .. I can workout from home but I really want to use the machines. Ahhh i hate working out ..why cant I be lazy and thin? lol I watched rock of love tour bus and there was a 40 yr old on there with a body that was hotter then I EVER had in my whole entire 32 yrs lol I was looking at her thinking.. wow i wish that was me LOL even if i TRIED it wouldnt happen now with my stretch marks and loose skin lol i do not have good genes that way LOL

Sprinkles - January 5th, 2009 8:27 PM

Amanda no i would not say you need to be worried - I didn't get my teeth til I was 1 yrs old .. my mom tells me the longer they stayed in there the stronger they were gonna be .. i dont know how true that is - maybe an old wives tale but either way I have fine teeth lol .. and I didn't get ONE til after I turned 1 yrs old .. no worries
