My ds is 5 months old tomorrow and he weighs 14lb 14oz, he weighed 7lb 9oz at birth so is still 2oz short of doubling his birth weight (something that i though they should do by 3 months) anyway my concerns aren't whether he is underweight, he looks very healthy and is a bonny happy baby. He currenlty eats 5 6oz bottles of forumla and on the odd occassion that he wakes in the night he has an extra 6oz. he has also had rice ceral fo the past 3 mornings, so should I be concerned that he has weighed the same for the past 3 weeks? My health visitor said that they will review his weight again next week, the only question they asked me was does his urine smell strong, which it doesn't. Any experience or advice?

My dd is 3.5 months, and eats about the same as your ds. She is packing on the pounds.. and is 16lbs. He could just have a really high metabolism... but also, he should be growing and thus his weight should be going up, even minimally. Id talk to the health visitor.... this situation doesnt sound right to me, there should me some weight gain (even if its minimal).

We just had my dd's doctor appointment, she'll be 5 months in three days and she weighs 12Ibs. 14oz. and the doctor was fine with her weight. She eats the same amount of food that your ds does. Both my kids are at smaller weights but the doctor doesn't have any concerns. I don't think you should be worried at all. Babies grow at different rates, the percentiles that the doctors have in the offices are just the guidlines of what your son should be on. I think your son is on the right track! Don't be worried.

I wouldn't be concered. Some babies are just smaller and once they start to get a little older their weight gain slows down. He could also be getting ready for a growth spurt. I always heard double their birth weight by 6 months, Sarah just barley made that, she is smaller and the doctor is fine with that. I don't know where you are, country wise, but I know here we track weight on a perctile chart and the important thing is to follow their growth curve, maybe you can check that out.
