My baby is 7 months old.. She was sleeping well since 6 weeks i-e from 11.00 pm to 7.30- 8.00 am..She will wake only once for feed around 3 am.
Life was going great.. I exclusively breastfed my baby for 4 months and after that gave formula since I have to go back to my work.I will feed her in the
Mornings and evenings.. This routine continued until she was 5 months old..After that she started asking feeds every one hour in the night.. Even though she is hungry or not,She wants to suck my breasts and sleep..She wants to keep my nipple in her mouth the whole night and moreover she is not sleeping deeply..She is turning and
tossing for every 10 mnts and turning towards my side to suck my breasts..She will drink for 5 mnts and again turn and sleep for 10 mnts.. After that she will again
turn towards my side and suck..So sleep fpr 10 mnts and suck for 10 mnts without opening her eyes. The whole night goes on like this..
.IAM GOING MAD…. Iam so sleep deprived and I cannot concentrate on my work.. I cannot sleep continuously for 1 hr also… Strday night was terrible..
Iam giving her solids also.. She ates veggies, fruits and rice cereal.. When iam on work, she eats everything what my mom gives..When she sees me in the evening,
She will not eat anything and asks for my breasts only.. So I cudnt give any solid foods for dinner..Guys plz help me.. Can I get little sleep??????

You poor thing! It sounds to me like she just needs the comfort of sucking. Does she take a pacifier? My lo used to do that and it drove me mad thinking she was hungry all the time when in fact she just need the soothing that comes from a baby's need to suck. I know the pacifier issue is up for debate and is a habit that just needs to be broken later on but it is miserable being sleep deprived and working (I know, I'm there). Since she does not act this way throughout the day with your mom and only with you (b/c you have the breasts) I think this might be the problem. Good luck, I hope you can get some sleep.

babymad, did this start about the same time you gave her solids? I wonder because my little one is acting a lot the same. She slept awesome up to about 6 months and now in the night she wants to be with me and suck suck suck. She will eat solids from me though but I work from home so I am with her all day. Mine doesn't do it as often in the night, but she will suck to sleep and then wake and go back to sucking. I get so tired I just let it happen.

I'm seeing the same thing with my dd (10 weeks), I'm also breastfeeding. She likes to suck, but won't rely on the pacifier. She barely takes naps, other than the 10-20 minute ones at my breast. And I'm trying to get her to sleep longer in the night by giving her 4-5 oz formula. It really isn't working. I wish there were some good tips out there for getting them to sleep, period. I am also very sleep deprived.
