Our 2 1/2 month old baby girl is very fussy, gassy, and spits up quite often. We've tried to switch different formulas, gas drops, and the mother does breast feed as well but for the past couple of days she seems to spit up everything we feed her and she is very upset...any advice? Help? Or should we just toughin' up?

It sounds as though she may have reflux which is common. Reflux is usually caused by the valve or muscle at the upper end of the stomach being immature and causes her feeds to come back up. It will improve as she gets older. Try giving her smaller feeds and burp her frequently during feeding. Also, you could try lying her down to feed instead sitting up. Avoid putting any pressure on her tummy after feeds too. Hope that helps

If your baby doesn't seem to be keeping anything down, watch for signs of dehydration...sunken soft spot, cracked lips, crying without tears, not wetting diapers. If your baby becomes dehydrated, she needs to be taken to the ER. I would definitely ask the pediatrician about the problems you're having feeding her. If you're having trouble getting her to burp, the doctor can show you other ways to burp her than putting her over your shoulder.
